“Nice hotel, great location”
The Novotel is a very nice hotel. The rooms are small by American standards, but clean and comfortable. The staff was great. There is construction going on outside the hotel, but there was no noise problem. The hotel is right on a Metro line. It is walking distance to Notre Dame and the Louvre. The buffet breakfast is pricey, but if you are looking for a big breakfast it is your best bet. There is a place around the corner that offers petit dejeuner--coffee, roll and bread with jam. Overall I would recommend this hotel. The room also had a comfortable bed. Amandine at the front desk was great and had wonderful recommendations for restaurants in the area.
“Nice hotel! Great location!”
My husband and I spent 6 nights at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel was located very close to the metro station. We enjoyed the restaurants, cafes and shops in the area. We would absolutely stay here again!
“Novotel Paris Les Halles”
We stayed here on our first trip to Paris. There's a lot of construction right now at the hotel next door, and at Les Halles, so there's a bit of noise. Our room was a great size for us and our two kids, but we wished there had been a dresser or a few drawers of some sort, so we didn't have to live out of our suitcases for a week. It would have been nice to be able to unpack. As far as the condition of the room, our shower leaked a lot, so the floor was always wet. The cleaning lady would walk in unannounced at random times, and sometimes the room was clean, sometimes not. The area around the hotel was okay during the day, but at night could get a little rowdy. The location was great for walking to the Louvre and other great attractions though. It's also got a Metro entrance right out the front door, and a lot of restaurants and shops nearby.
“Good location, helpful staff”
The hotel cost a bit. It seemed to be the best value for the location that I could find for the time though. We were very happy though with the choice. We were able to check in early as the room was available and the staff were always very helpful. Breakfast was great - heaps of choice and yummy.
“Good hotel, good value, dodgy location”
Hotel was clean, new and had reasonably fast wi-fi service. Staff was attentive, food was fine. Location is: near the metro station, near good high street shopping, hopping with lots of nightlife but the immediate vicinity appeared to be a little dodgy (I may be overly judgemental) and in transition.
“Location, Location, Location”
Located in the heart of what looks to be a pedestrian mall so quintessentially French you might never leave the area. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores. Even McDonald's and Pizza Hut. Surrounded by people walking and sitting in the sun, eating at one of dozens of sidewalk cafe's. All within walking distance. 10 minutes to the Louvre, 15 to Notre Dame. Right beside the subway which will get you to Eiffel and Versaille easily and cheaply. The have a tourist office downstairs that set me up with a tour of Normandy. The room was a nice size. We slept 3 comfortably (one on a pull out). We had a mini-bar fridge that we used for our own stuff. All clean and neat. Forget the horror stories about closet sized rooms here. This place is plenty big enough. We were there in late May 2011. The staff was excellent. Most everyone in Paris was very helpful and I would say about half spoke enough English that we could get by. It helps to know enough basic French to get your point across. My daughter has food allergies and there is a vegetarian restaurant directly accross the street that served her needs well. There are also a couple of Indian restaurants close by where she could eat.
“Weekend in Paris”
Great hotel and location. Near Notre Dame and the Louve. If you're up for it you can walk from the hotel to the Eiffel Tower.
“Nice hotel to visit and stay”
It was great!
“Paris Hotel - Center of Paris”
The staff was great! Very very friendly. The location is excellent in the heart of downtown Paris.
“Best district 1 hotel”
hotel is staff is very friendly. just let them know what you need and they will help you. hotel provided electric adapter at no charge. if you get your purchase thorough Expedia you get free wireless wifi. breakfast is fantastic with a lot of choices. hotel is located next or on top of metro station... so very close to all locations just by hopping on the metro. rooms are a bit small. children stays free in hotel. there is a supermarket close by approx one block away that sells 1.5 liter water for .57 euro. if you don't want to take the 40 steps you can go to the convenience next to hotel for 2.60 euro.
