“Great hotel”

Excellent reception, wonderful room (very large for New York hotels), great attention to detail. We stayed in a premium room at a great rate through Expedia. Loved the bar/restaurant on the first floor for comfort and people watching.

“Fantastic Hotel!”

I surprised my husband with a trip to New York. I researched the usual five star hotels like Four Seasons, Madarin Oriental, Plaza etc. but ultimately decided on the Setai. What a great decision. We were particularly impressed with the personal service. The hotels personal assistant (in particular Sophie) took care of all of the details to make our trip fantastic. The location is close to everything - the hotel is virtually on the door step of the Empire State Building, Macy's and a host of designer shops. You can't go wrong with this hotel!

“This is our new 'hotel of choice' in NYC!”

We have usually stayed uptown or midtown, so this was a (slightly) different experience for us. We loved it! The "Flatiron' area is easily walkable and is now extremely trendy, great restaurants and bars. The hotel is nearly new and the facilities, as one might expect, are first class, the staff are well trained and very friendly and welcoming. Although this is a real 5star hotel there is none of the 'stuffiness' or 'snobishness' of some others similarly rated in NYC.

“Love this Hotel!”

This hotel and the entire staff was wonderful. We've stayed at other 5 star hotels and they are gorgeous too (Four Season's Beverly Hills, Ritz Carlton NYC, Caymans) but this hotel seemed to go the extra mile in customer service to please its guests. Pretzels after a long day of shopping, cookies at turn down service, complimentary soft drinks/ water and coffee and biscotti in lobby in the morning, well the only morning I was there early enough. I had read several complaints about location but honestly we enjoyed the location. Far enough from the Times Square craziness but still close enough to walk after a show when could not find a taxi. Advice: Ladies bring flats in case this happens. In midtown, so everything is relatively close, esp with subway. My husband loved the location because there was several beer places (Ginger Man, Galaway Hooker) within a block that he was able to enjoy while I was at my conference. One thing I didn't realize was that it was one block from Empire State Building. That was always a good landmark if you got turned around. The hotel bar is really nice too. Jazz music in evening, very classy way to unwind if you are back early enough from dinner.

“Luxurious and excellent service”

Really liked the hotel overall. I had a number of request prior to arrival, all of which were handled exactly as requested by the personal assistant. During the stay a number of additional requests were also all accommodated. Good points: - complimentary drop off in the hotel car for journeys from the hotel to places in town (on a first come first server basis). Nice esp as its a maserati - room size and comfort - daily complimentary re-stocked soft drinks/coffee in the mini bar - excellent staff - nice bar with excellent cocktail selection - nice view of the empire state building. Ask for a room on 36th st side and as high as possible - lavish toiletries Less good points: - bar gets very busy so its difficult to get a spot (this is probably typical of all hotel bars in nyc) - we got no special treatment (e.g. free drinks / room upgrade) even though I told them I was there to get engaged. Didn't complain as it is totally discretionary but restaurants we went to offered a free drink/desert so I was somewhat disappointed

“a very positive experience”

Setai stay was one of the better hotel stays we have had in a long time and certainly one of the best in New York City. Ameneties were as advertised. In addition the staff were across the board happy, anxious to please and always accomodating. We plan to return to Setai on 5th on all of our future New York visits.

“The Best”

We have been to many of the hotels in ny. We have stayed at the Benjamin, balcony suite, the W and the ritz. This was by far the best of all. Great rooms, amazing friendly staff and a great location. Super clean, modern, all top quality.

“Great stay”

We had a great stay at The Setai. The staff were very polite and welcoming. The hotel is without doubt one of the best we have stayed in. The only down side was that when at check in we were asked for a credit card as authorisation during our stay we didn't realise that money, ($1270), would be debited immediately and then returned later. I gave a prepaid currency master card only to find that I then couldn't use it anywhere else as most of the money had been debited by the hotel! The hotel should clarify this when checking in.

“I loved my stay at The Setai”

My family (husband, children, and myself) stayed at The Setai in the one bdrm. apt., which exceeded every expectation. The apartment was extremely spacious. It was so useful to have a kitchen, since my kids are "selective" eaters. The staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. I loved the personal assistant, (which we used to run to errands while we went sightseeing.)
