“Wonderful hotel and staff- definitely reccomend!”

We just returned from Montreal 2 days ago and had a wonderful stay at the St Sulpice Hotel. Our 2 teenage children shared the superior loft with us and it worked very well. A double bed and a pull out sofa. The hotel staff was great--friendly , accomadating and extemely helpful. Location is excellent in the Old Port overlooking the cobblestone streets. I definitely recommend this hotel and location. Getting to St Sulpice Street is a problem however due to construction on Notre Dame. GPS does not help and just keeps circling around so call the hotel after you cross the bridge for directions to avoid construction. Many good restaurant- for crepes I recommend Chez Suzette and Muro. Excellent fine french at La Bonaparte which is a restaurant within a hotel of the same name, Wonderful trip--3 days is sufficient for a stay in Montreal.

“Going back to Le Saint Sulpice”

Hotel was all newly renovated this year . . . Fantastic! The location was perfectly situated right in the heart of Old Montreal . . . All 6 of us agreed we're going back and we'll stay there again.

“Perfect Montreal Hotel”

Clean, great staff, comfortable room, perfect location. Comfortable bed. Good size room. Will gladly return. It is hard to find a hotel to fit my three kids with us. This room was large enough and had plenty of sleep space.

“Great Hotel with Old World Charm”

We were certainly not disappointed in the hotel, the rooms are suites with a small (but ample) bedroom, and a nice large living room with a kitchenette. The staff was always helpful, even though we had no complaints or issues to deal with. Well decorated and stylish The location is superb in Old Montreal, BUT, if you are not an adventurous driver, you may want to avoid the hotel this summer only because they are doing extensive road work around the cathedral, and it is difficult to get to the hotel the first time. Best advice if driving is to call the hotel desk the day of the trip and tough it out the first time (GPS will not help), then park your car and take the Metro everywhere or walk.

Old Montreal, Latin Quarter (St. Denis & St. Catherine streets), Olympic stadium area are the most interesting, plus a trip up Mont Royal to check out the view.

“Rude treatment”

Our stay would have been wonderful had the hotel been clear about its breakfast policy. According to the hotel management, if bookings are made online, breakfast is never included and in Montreal management claims the policy is to not advertise a price for breakfast! When we saw a buffet breakfast and sat to enjoy it, we were not told that we would be charged a flat rate. The hotel charged us $59 Canadian for 3 cups of coffee, 2 croissants and a container of yogurt! The hotel refused to adjust the bill because they refuse to take responsibility for the operation of the restaurant on premises. The customer relations manager was extraordinarily rude. Also, we had prepaid for our rooms through Expedia, and after we had checked out and signed a final bill, came home to find that the hotel had billed our credit card for the rooms. Expedia guests should beware of these practices at this hotel.

We enjoyed old Montreal and the museums. Montreal is walkable, safe and pleasant. Neighborhoods are distinctive, with their own peculiar charm. Old Montreal has pedestrian streets, outdoor entertainment and so many wonderful restaurants. Sitting outside, eating and drinking, people watching, and just enjoying the ambiance makes for a relaxing, fun time.

“Great location”

The saint-surplice couldn't be better located. The lobby is fashionable. The rooms are exceptionally large, but only so-so appointed. The double bed (mis-advertised as queen) was lumpy. The free wi-fi was spotty.
