“tired accomodation but well located”
The location was good, easy to walk to many interesting places. The hotel was strange because it looked old, smelt of cigarette smoke, and the wiring not well thought out with hazards around the room. Not good for families with small kids. However the beds were comfortable the location was good and it was reasonably clean so we were happy enough for the money.
“Great location!”
Chose this hotel for a budget reason. Parking is $18+tax but it is 10 min walk to the Old Montreal town which is very nice. The room that we were upgraded to does have some odor like other people have said, but it is not as bad.
“Decent hotel, nothing special”
We knew when we booked this hotel that it was a decent hotel in an ok neighborhood, but it was close to the action of the Old Port and it had a full kitchen. The kitchen saved us a lot of money (plus the Expedia coupon). The neighborhood wasn't that bad, but we were not out late at night. The closeness to the Old Port was awesome. Very close for dinner, etc. Pros: Kitchen, close to food, attractions, etc, close to metro, and very quiet inside the hotel (even though on major street) Cons: Internet speed was AWFUL. Think pre dial up. Also, the air conditioner seemed to be controlled by a motion sensor so it kept shutting off at night. Very annoying. I would stay there again, but be aware that it is nothing fancy.
“Very Comfortable Suite if your travelling with or without kids”
For the price it was well worth it !!! The room itself was very comfortable as wells as the beds. The full kitchen was very convienant, the full size Fridge and Mircowave also a plus since we were traveling with kids. The room itself was very clean had no smell . the only thing is , if you need fresh towels, you had to bring it downstairs and exchange for new fresh ones. The staff spoke english very well and were extremely helpful with suggestions of restaurants ,sites to see, and other recommendations. They also have a free washer and dryer to use, the only thing is that you have to buy their detergent which is about $2.00.- (which your gonna need anyway). The neighborhood it self was a bit "Shady" at nite- but during the day it was fine. Overall-I strongly recommend this suite its very relaxing and comfortable. I would book this Hotel/Suite again.
“Will come back”
It was actually better thank I expected based on the reviews I read, is great value for the location and amenities it offers.
“Good for long term stay”
Hotel has good ammenities for a week's stay or longer. It is older, and the A/C is in the bedroom only. I had a few problems with the T.V. and a lightbulb being out, but it was fixed timely enough. I did have to buy coffee, filters, & milk, as the front desk was out of these items (minus decaf), but for a week's stay it was fine. It is noisy on the weekends with a lot of younger drunk people up late at night. Other than hearing that in the hallways and door slamming late at night, everything was quiet. I was a single female there for a week to sight-see, and I felt safe. It's a good place to go for easy access to the Convention Center and downtown Montreal.
“Absolutely wonderful!”
The hotel was wonderful and was in a great area for teens, adults, and the homosexuals as there was a fun "gay community" right down the street that went on for several blocks! St. Catherine's street is right behind the hotel and St. Laurent was to the left (or the right depending on where you're standing) so there was never a problem finding something to do at night! The only unfortunate part about the hotel was there was an $18/ night valet parking fee. The rooms DON'T get cleaned everyday because it's a hotel for long term stay but unless you're very messy, its not a problem. The hotel was beautiful, and everyone in Montreal is so nice, including the receptionists/ maids. I recommend this hotel to everyone!
“Hotel Needs Updated”
We were visiting from out of town, but were not impressed at all with the hotel, which was surprising since we have had good luck with Candlewood Hotels in the past. The only "Bright spot" was the valet man who was more than helpful.
“Excellent Choice”
Outstanding room for the price. Highly recommend staying here. Front desk was very helpful. Location was excellent.
“Good Extended Stay”
As an extended stay, room service only comes once a week. With that in mind, the service was excellent. Thee room we stayed in included kitchen with fridge, stove, microwave, dishwasher, two sets of dishes and breakfast bar; king size bed; pull out sleeper couch; desk; TV and DVD player; and full bath. Hotel services include free laundry (buy your own detergent), DVD library and large vending selection to name a few. It is also within walking distance of a couple of grocery stores where you can pick up your own food. It is located near old town, Chinatown and shopping on St Catherine. Also located near train stops and airport express bus stops. All in all, very convenient. Definitely a good hotel for extended stays in Montreal.
