“Great hotel, great location, great value.”

For the guy who said in his review that it was hard to find, he must have had his eyes closed. Nevertheless, the hotel is not new and fancy, but rather an older hotel offering a large room with all the amenities one needs at a terrific location in South Beach. It is smack in the middle of the shopping and restaurant district and two short blocks from the public beach. We rented the suite and it came complete with a kitchen table and many kitchen supplies. Some have complained about the bathroom. Yes, the bathroom is a bit small and perhaps could use some sprucing up, but its hardly worth mentioning. The only thing I would mention negatively about the room is that the couch/futon is pretty uncomfortable for sitting on. Its too bad you can't see the TV from the bed. The restaurant in the hotel is good and fairly inexpensive. You can't go wrong with the Ocean Reef. I will definitely consider staying here on my next (and hopefully longer) trip to Miami. This time around was a one night stop before a cruise.

“Good Value”

The staff was nice. The rooms were very modern looking. The bed was good. The only thing I can complain about is the living room couch (extra bed) was very low and I can't get out of very low seats, and the dining table and chairs were very high - like bar stools. I am having arthritis problems so these were not comfortable. I asked if they could get me a regular chair and all they could come up with was a metal folding chair.

Very good location, close to everything and right in the midle of SOBE's nightlife and beaches!! Nice hotel, very clean and confortable. Very good service and frindly crew! I would go there again next time.

“Extremely Impressed”

I was pleasantly surprised at my stay here. The hotel was extremely clean and spacious. There was a washer dryer, two flat screen televisions, and everything I need. It was literally not even 3 minutes from the beach. I would definitely go back. The staff were nice and helpful

The hotel was very clean as was our room. We were very satisfied. We also received excellent service from the staff. They allowed us to keep our bags in our room past check out time due to our plans. Also loaned us an umbrella during the downpour. They were great!

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Very nice theme, the room was real nice. All our friends that came by liked it also. The people at the front desk were very nice and friendly. There were only minor problems like a small iron board and the water pressure in the bathroom was kinda low but like i said minor problems. Overall my friends and I enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again when we go back to miami.

“Best location for South Beach fun!”

I was staying with three of my friends and we loved this hotel as it was perfect location. One street away from the beach and a few minutes walk/ cab ride to most of the clubs. Big apartments with lots of room, bathrooms were on the small side but managable. Staff were helpful and friendly, free beach towel rental and a great day spa that is situated in the apartments themselves. Would definatly stay here again!

“Great Little Hotel In Heart of South Beach”

My girlfriend and I arrived at Ocean Reef Suites on Saturday January 8, 2011 at 12:30pm and were pleased to find out that all the great reviews we read about the hotel were true. The hotel is located right on Collins, so you are right in the heart of South Beach. You can easily walk to Ocean Drive where the beach and all the iconic cafes area located and are surrounded by shopping galore. The hotel itself is great because the rooms are like little apartments including a functioning kitchen with dishes, cups, cutlery, a sink, hotplate, refrigerator, and microwave. The bed was nice and comfy and there was lots to watch on the flat screen TV. A few things to point out about the hotel would be that there are two floors and no elevator. Not recommended for individuals with a disability or trouble with stairs. Staff however were more than willing to help us with our luggage to the second floor. The washroom in my opinion was average despite the really negative reviews that are out there. It was nothing special but got the job done. One knock would be the toilet wasn't the greatest in terms of flushing strength and usually required a double flush. In all, this is a great hotel for the price. It’s very comfortable, conveniently located, and the kitchen is a definite plus in my opinion. Both my girlfriend and I agree that the next time we are in South Beach we will definitely be staying at the Ocean Reef Suites .

“Our choice again for our next trip !”

The pictures displayed by the hotel give a wrong impression about the size of the studio rooms/suites. We reserved a "studio" which revealed actually upon check-in to be a regular room + kitchenette; furthermore, the toilet-flush was broken as well as the wall soap holder in the bathroom. When we complained, we found the staff at the reception very obliging and they immediately upgraded us to a genuine double room studio (for a reasonable extra charge). Apart from this mishap, we found the place very comfortable and were very happy with the kitchenette, saving us from all the neighboring eateries ! Very friendly staff, clean place, well maintained, good location... We would certainly return to this hotel for our next visit to Miami Beach.

Was clean, room was large, older but well kept up. Would go back. Great neighborhood, close to everything in South Beach.
