“Mark from Manly in NSW”
Quite a nice hotel where the price makes it a great deal. Clean, modern and comfortable.
“Great proximity to Station & Docklands”
The ease to wlk to this venue from southern cross station was amazing - no time at all. Although stairs to navigate - it is on the doorstep to all at Docklands & Etihad Stadium. A tidy hotel with all that you need Great value.
“Perfect location”
The location was ideal for us. Close to all forms of transport. Straight of the plane onto a bus and then a 5 minute walk. Not the flashest hotel around but for the money it was great. A shame you can't buy dinner in the restaurant but the room service food was good, Heaps of restaurants all around (10 minute walk). All in all I would stay there again for sure, especially if attending sport at Ettihad Stadium(4 minute walk).
“I would stay at a Travelodge again.”
This place was just fine for the money. The breakfast buffet was a C. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Evidently the do not disturb sign on the door means come in and disturb in Punjab. Funny thing is it means the same thing in Spanish here in the states. Other than that it was a decent place to stay at a fair price especially when your gone checking out the sites all day anyways.
“A clean and comfortable hotel with a great location.”
We travelled to Melbourne for the AFL 2011 finals and stayed here. The location is great, just across the bridge from Southern Cross (Spencer Street) station allows easy access to both trains and trams that means you can get anywhere you need to be in Melbourne city extremely easily. It also means you are virtually just around the corner from Docklands stadium and 3 train stops from the MCG. Great for the football supporter! There is nothing flashy about the rooms, but they are clean, comfortable and came at a reasonable price considering the location. Will be staying here again on our next football trip.
“good price, good location”
easy walk to South Warf (DFO shopping) & Casino. Also easy walk to Docklands (Harbour Town shopping)... not in downtown Bourke or Collins street but its only a 10 min walk so good location. clean hotel, has a microwave & basic cutlery etc.. not toothbrush or shower cap though!
“very comfortable and convenient to CBD”
The Travelodge at Docklands was new and so very clean and comfortable. the staff were friendly and helpful also.
“Will be staying here again! So convient for our needs.”
Very convient to all things.. 5 minute walk to Southern Cross Station and buses, easy to get anywhere you want. In a lovely quiet location. Rooms quiet, bathroom very clean with wonderful water pressure. Only downside was finding carpark first time....and when leaving dont forget to get ticket validated by reception or you wont be able to leave!!!!!! There is a little walk from car park about 5 minutes, again you need to know where you are going... Lucky for us we had someone with us who could show us the way.. but it would be easy enough to figure out.
“Convenient location, reasonable price and good service!”
Great location for attending a conference in Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. It took me just about 10 minutes walk from the hotel to the meeting place. It is also very close to Southern Cross Station where SkyBus departures to and arrives from the airport. It makes airport transfer easy and convenient with a low cost. Very short walk to shopping center and to Collins Street to catch tram into centre of city. The price of the room is reasonable. Most staff are very friendly and helpful. They always try to solve any problems ASAP. The breakfast buffet is OK.
“not impressed”
We chose Travelodge because they have a good name in the hotel world and Docklands seemed a good location and well priced. However the front door was difficult to find. The Foyer resembled a bus station – not an inviting hotel foyer. The "queen" sized bed was very hard and was 2 beds joined together that created a rift during the night” and left me with a sore back. The décor was dull (dark brown and beige) – it seemed cheep, old and out of date. Although our room was at the back of the hotel thus avoiding traffic noise, I was constantly woken up by a constant “clicking” noise in the ceiling – I thought it may have been the air conditioning, however on turning it off, I still could hear the “clicking” noise. I would not recommend this accommodation at all.
