“Would stay again”

Great stay! Clean, comfortable stay with very accommodating and friendly service. Close to many great London sites as well as two tube stations. Wished the business center had a few more computers during peak times and nearby restaurants were a little lackluster but I loved my stay there.

“Great location but non renovated rooms overpriced”

Great location and the staff other than the front desk was great. The room prices for the unrenovated rooms are too expensive. Those rooms, which we were forced to take because we were told no renovated rooms were available, are just tired and worn.

“Very good place to stay!”

The location is perfect (just a few steps from St James station). Less than 10 minutes on foot from de Westminster Abbey. The room is so confortable and the service is very kindly!!! Of course, when you pay in pounds, everything is expensive (manly if you are brazilian), however it worths trying the restaurants of the Hotel (excelent atmosphere and good quality). We love it and we want to come back again!!!

Westminster Abbey,Big Ben,London Eye,Madame Tussauds,St Pauls Cathedral,Abbey Road,Covent Garden,Notting Hill,Hyde Park, Tower Bridge, Windsor. Don´t buy the London Pass (fell free to walk around).

“Beautiful hotel, great location!”

This is a beautiful hotel in a great location just a couple of blocks from Buckingham Palace. My husband and I had reserved a superior with king bed and somehow were put in one of the older rooms with a queen (bed--not monarch-darn, would have been fun). We said something to the front desk and were immediately put in a beautiful King room overlooking the lovely courtyard. It was a far superior room with gorgeous bath, etc. --made the stay of a week in London much better. I have to say that the concierge was not particularly friendly and sometimes not very helpful when we asked questions, but overall, the hotel is wonderful and I would highly recommend it!

“Great Hotel near Buckingham Palace & Westminster”

Very good hotel. Quiet area near (2 blocks) Buckingham Palace and about 1/4 mile to Westminster Abbey or Trafalgar Square. Room was a good size, clean with no problems. Bath was a full tub/shower and not small like a lot of Eurpoean hotels. Great staff; concierge was first class, desk personnel always helpful. Breakfast is included with room and is a full English breakfast and hot buffet. One block to the Underground (subway). Would definitely stay here again.

Oxford/New Bond streets have the best shopping including Saville Row.

What to pack

Bring warm clothes even if they say the weather will be warm. London gets cold at night and can have cold, misty days.

“The St. James Court, still the Grand Old Regent”

The Crowne Plaza St. James and the adjacent property, the Taj 51 are one of London's finest grand hotels. The room are well maintained, and are constantly upgraded. All of the rooms' amenities are more than adequate: from the closet space to the furniture and bedding. The restaurants at the hotel are superb. We have visited the Quilon Indian restaurant (one of the best in London I'm told), the Bank Westminster restaurant, the Hampton Bar and of course the Bistro 51restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. All of them were excellent and satisfying. There are other restaurants nearby: e.g. Bon Gusto italian restaurant just a 2 minute walk up toward Buckingham Palace. Victoria St. with restaurants and shopping is just a block away. Transportation is nearby, the St. James Tube station is a 5 minute walk away. Victoria Tube station is about a 10 minute walk away.

TRAVELER'S TIP: The Tube is the best way to travel--but instead of buying a daily travel card, opt instead for the Oyster card. The secret is that it will still function as a daily travel card because one you have used the card to the point of a daily travel card in one day, it will stop deducting from your card. Also if you have a cell phone that works in the UK, opt for the O2 Sim Card. Top off for 10 pounds or 15 pounds, you can make 50 or 100 international minutes for FREE this is in addition to the amount of time on your SIM card.

“Excellent Customer Service”

We received excellent customer service during our stay. From the initial reception at check-in through our departure, we were continually recognized as a guest of the hotel. Most importantly, after our check-out the concierge offered exemplary assistance in contacting our independently arranged transportation to Harwich (who was already 30 minutes late) to confirm our transfer and provide alternative arrangements. The St. James is an excellent hotel in an extremely convenient location to the major attractions of London. The surrounding neighborhood is safe and friendly and offers many city conveniences for tourists. We would readily book another stay at the St. James for a future visit to London.

“Best location in London”

Perfect location, only a block and a half to Buckingham Palace and a short walk to Westminister, Big Ben and Parliament. The hotel restaurant, Bistro 51 was great and Hampton Court is a wonderful spot for a leisurely tea.
