“Good hospitality and service, but.....”

Good hospitality and service, but the hotel needs major refurbishment. A floor squeak noise and footsteps in the corridor disturbed my sleep. The floor squeak should be fixed, and the insulation against outside noise should be better and improved. Further more, I did not have wireless internet service (WiFi service) and TV system for 3 days out of 4 days I stayed. I learned from the front of the house that it happened due to external cabling damages...(?)

“Cadogan”

I like this hotel overall. I like concierge service - they were always friendly and helpful. But the wi-fi is very hard to connect. Location is very good - close to center and very quite in the evenings.

“Not up to the neighborhood”

Staff was helpful and delightful, public areas have charm, rooms are dull, small, over heated (even in England!), worn, TVs never worked properly. There are far better properties in the area--look elsewhere.

“Cozy and pleasant”

After staying at Cadogan for 7 nights in April, and taking into consideration that this is London, we can summarize it: Positives: splendid location, large and quiet room, extremely comfortable mattress, impeccable bathroom, free Wi-Fi, very accommodating hotel staff. Negatives: breakfast not included in room price. Thank you for making our stay pleasant !

“NOT a 5-STAR hotel”

On the plus side -- EVERY Cadogan Hotel employee (and outside contractor) does try to be very helpful and housekeeping is excellent. BUT, the physical plant leaves much to be desired. My first room -- the air conditioner was broken; an in-room replacement broken; another in-room AC needed to be vented out an open window. Next room AC leaked into my closet on the third night. Room safe was defective. Phone line lost calls as there was a loose connection. Toilet was repaired in two places (it should have been replaced). Television in first room not working (TV tech did everything to help but to no avail). TV in second room not working last 5 nights -- installing a new system. Carpets in the 2nd floor hallway need replacement. Chair in the computer room needs to be replaced with an "appropriate" desk chair. If you require a firm mattress this in not the place for you. Elevator is "charming" but often not available as the lobby floor door is left open. Went for coffee at Langtry's (their restaurant) my first morning. WOW, what a rip-off. Had regular plain coffee which I new would be expensive in a hotel restaurant. BUT, I was astonished when I received my bill only to find out that I was charged by the pour -- 12.83 pounds (almost $20) for two plain cups of regular coffee. When I asked about it the waitress noted that she did not charge me for a third cup when she topped off my second cup. If you end up here, walk to Sloane Square for coffee.

Area recommendations
It seems to me with the outstanding bus and underground service that there are many wonderful neighborhoods to stay in. I liked this location as it was across from a beautiful park. I also liked the fact that it was near Harrod's and Sloane Square.

“Charming Hotel”

We enjoyed this hotel the best of the ones we have stayed in London. It has great old world charm and the staff was friendly and very helpful. We upgraded to the delux king room and stayed seven nights. The room was large (for a major city) with 14 foot ceilings, big windows and room to walk around. The bathroom was fine - only one sink but lots of room to place toiletries and nice shower/tub. And they gave us lots of clean towels without those annoying guilt messages. And turned down the bed each night. We had breakfast several mornings in the hotel. Breakfast is elegant but expensive. For the most part it was good service. They also serve tea in the sitting rooms in the afternoon. Very nice. There are bus and tube stations very close to the hotel. We took the bus most of the time so we could see the scenery. It is slower than the tube but much more interesting. The hotel is located on a street of designer shops so walking is also very pleasant...for looking. Very certral location and surrounded by beautiful buildings. It was one of our best stays in London and would return to this hotel.

Area recommendations
We were blessed with beautiful weather the entire seven days so we spent the days in Green Park, St James Park and Hyde Park.

“cadogan knightsbridge”

Very nice older hotel in chic shopping neighborhood. Close to the tube, great service. Loved hotel overall. Be aware rooms have smaller a/c units and unit sometimes does not cool as much as desired. Not a factor in spring or fall but summer could get very hot. But excellent service and great location. Will be back...
