"Amazing place to stay at"
This is a great place for honrymooners or people who just want to relax. The resort is very big with a lot of activities and amazing rooms. We had the pool villa suite which was fantastic with complete privacy and a private pool and jacuzzi. Their spa is outstanding, you can't miss it. We tried 3 different massages and we loved all of them. The staff is very very good. Food is awesome too. The view is the best I could every see. You won't need to go out of the resort.

Shuttle service provided was excellent. Staff great - booked trips for us and were so helpful - always willing to take you up to your rooms on the golf buggies. Great pool.

"Lovely hotel in a good location"
We spent an excellent week here in August 2014. We had spent the first week of our trip in Bangkok and touring the mainland. The Peace Resort was the perfect way to relax for the second half or our holiday. A 10 minute walk down the beach in the evening and you are in Fisherman's Village with a good selection of places to eat and drink, something for every budget. The hotel restaurant was very quiet in the evening, we assume this was due to the prices since the food was very good. The food was not expensive by comparison to the UK but it was cheaper to go into Fisherman's Village. Would recommend a sea breeze villa.

"Great hotel away from the crowds"
We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys and spent 3 weeks at ShaSa resort. It is a beautiful resort at the southern tip of the island. The accommodation is great with ample room and great facilities. It has an excellent restaurant and brilliant staff that are always happy to help. We hired a car at the airport and this made life much easier to get around as the location is somewhat secluded. I would highly recommend ShaSa.

"Excellent"
Very happy with everything about this hotel - very good value for money. Location is the best with beautiful beachfront. I stayed at Chaweng Regent Hotel 2 years ago and whilst that was a very good hotel the beach is nowhere near as good as it is much shallower and rocky. The staff were all friendly and helpful keeping in mind there is a language barrier. The shower pressure and temperature were great which can be a problem at some other hotels I have stayed in Thailand. I could not fault this hotel in any way.

"Great Room and Hotel for Everyone"
Room was fantastic. We had a double bed room (not Villa). Very big and comfortable bed, plenty of space around the room and a very nice bathroom. The room had everything, safe, water kettle, drink glasses, wine glasses, tea cups, wine/bottle opener, and mini fridge. The bathroom had a huge shower and plenty of space of two peoples toiletries. The balcony had comfortable chairs and a clothing rack (to hang swimming clothes). The staff was very friendly. Also, breakfast (by our surprise) was complimentary. This was a bit confusing since there was a sign at the front desk stating breakfast was 700 THB. The breakfast was great, had hot dishes (eggs, potatoes, bacon, pancakes) as well as the continental dishes (cereal, yogurt, fruit, bread, pastries). The only con was the staff's English. I missplaced a pair of sunglasses and no one could understand or seem to assist. This is more of a frustration at the time and should not count against the hotel. Other things to note, hotel is located ~15-minute walk from Chaweng main strip or restaurants and stores. I personally liked that since that part of town gets loud and busy. There was a very good restaurant near the hotel, Magnolia Cafe. We ate there everyday. Everything on their menu was great! I highly recommend staying here.

"Great stay for full moon party"
We stayed at the Dakanda for the duration of the full moon party. We chose the Dakanda because of cost and location not to close to the party but not to far about 15 - 20min tuk tuk ride location did not let us down was perfect. The staff were great one in-particular "Ozzie", Ozzie went above and beyond and organised our transport to and from party and anywhere else we wanted to go he new us individually by name (even what we drank), and gave us Hotel Business cards and his number if anything happened to us while at the party for people to contract. The Hotel was great we stayed in garden Villas the pool was nice and clean and the ocean was beautiful, the staff would go out a few times a day (on tide change) and sweep up any seaweed / leaves of the sand so it was always very clean. My 3 favourite things about the Dakanda was: 1st the service and kindness from the staff 2nd the fantastic aircon mixed with silence perfect for hangover cure 3rd eating each meal overlooking the ocean and listening to waves - cant wake up to anything better :) DAKANDA - you will most certainly be seeing us again thank you for the great stay :) Kristy, Chris, Steven and Nicolle the Auzzies December 10th 2011 full moon Party

Where to stay in Ko Samui?

Even though Thailand’s third-largest island has often been compared with paradise, it still manages to keep its feet on the ground. So whether you’re a bohemian backpacker or a comfort-loving hedonist, you'll find that most hotels in Ko Samui deliver a little piece of heaven at seriously down-to-earth prices.

    Beaches and waterfalls

The beaches are the jewels in Ko Samui’s crown, but head inland to escape the crowds of sun-seekers and you’ll be richly rewarded. Marvel at the colourful cascades of Namuang waterfall, the longest of the island’s many falls, or hike through several levels for a cooling dip in the pool at the top of Hin Laad, stopping off at the temple for some spiritual refreshment. Climb the staircases for a dramatic view of the azure waters of the Emerald Sea, or admire the tropical flowers and colourful insects in Samui Butterfly Garden.

The Fisherman’s Village at Bo Phut offers a glimpse of the traditional island way of life, with many well-preserved wooden Chinese shop-houses and a lively evening market where you can shop for souvenirs and sample the local cuisine in the street cafes. From here you can take a fishing trip on a local boat around the island of Koh Phangan, or go on a day dive to the world-famous Ang Thong Marine Park.

    Detox and Full Moon Party

If you’re up for a full-on detox, many Ko Samui hotels have their own on-site wellness centres, offering everything from bespoke New Age holistic spas to friendly open-to-all yoga classes. Check with your own accommodation for more information about the facilities in your resort. Or if you prefer to leave the hard work to others, grab a ticket for Chaweng Thai Boxing Stadium, where you can watch high-profile title fights as well as local matches.

For an antidote to all that healthy living, spend a night on the tiles before you leave. The legendary Full Moon Party has been held at Haad Rhin Beach on Koh Phangan since the mid-1980s. Nowadays tens of thousands of revellers take the short boat ride from Ko Samui to party until dawn and then sleep it off on the beach. Try the Thai whisky (in moderation) for an authentic hippie hangover!
