“Great staff!”
My wife and I are Americans who stayed at this hotel for 2 weeks for a combination business and pleasure trip. We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. One of them actually took us on a personalized tour of Pretoria. The hotel was most affordable and the breakfast buffet was scrumptuous. We will definitely stay here when we return to Johannesburg next summer.
“Reasonably priced, safe, and conveniently located”
Staff was friendly and accommodating. Lovely breakfast buffet (at an extra charge). Safety was ensured and there was public internet for a minimal fee. Hotel is in close proximity to the Western Bypass, N1, MI and shopping. Wish there had been more channels on TV including Disney as going out at night with children is hard. All in all, right price and right environment.

“Very good accomodations in Johannesburg”
I only stayed in this hotel one night but I would have done well to stay there the entire time. Great location (near freeway-access to Joburg and Pretoria), clean, comfortable room with hospitable staff. Plenty of food choices nearby-I recommend if a clean room and nice bed are your basic requirements!
“Comfortable stay”
We had a very comfortable stay in Mercure Midrand. It was a long way from the airport and cost SAR 250 for the hotel shuttle to the hotel. The rooms were very clean and we had plenty of room to stretch out. They held our bags at no extra cost for a week while we did some other travel around Southern Africa. We would highly recommend this as a great value for money place to stay.
“Far from airport but provided shuttle service cheaper than taxi”
Good breakfast, friendly staff. Only problem was the elevator was out of order on the last day we were there. Don't know how fast repair service was.
“Not impressed”
No restaurant at night, surrounding area very dangerous. Far from everything.
“Poor Location but....”
Although the location is not great it works for us. No evening meals means you have to use the limited local facilities or drive 10-15 minutes. Breakfast is fairly good but expensive and the menue stays basically the same, OK if you stay for just 1 or 2 nights but not for longer. Would recomend this hotel if you are on business but not on holiday.
