“Well located Hotel. Will be back for another visit!”

Spotless, well run and very friendly Hotel. Superb location for all main tourist sites, the fantastic waterfront, shops, restaurants and tram line linking to the airport.

“Recommended - Hotel Agan”

As with all things you get what you pay for. We had a lovely stay at Hotel Agan in Istanbul. Yes the rooms were basic and small but they were clean and sufficient. The bathroom was small and the shower in an unusual position but it was clean and adequate. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has an outside ground level terrace lined of cushions to sit back, sipping tea and watching the world go by. Breakfast was traditional Turkish (bread, pastries, fruit, cheese & ham etc) so if you want a full English you will be disappointed! The hotel is grouped with others in backstreets off the main ringroad which are all lined with restaurants - we tried most of the restaurants and they were all very good. The hotel was situated excellently for all the tourist sites, you don't need a guide! Trains, metro, buses and boats to other areas of Istanbul are also close by. We would recommend this hotel and Istanbul for a nice relaxing break. Perhaps not for those looking for romantic luxury or due to space with children! Do yourself a favour and include the Museum of Archeology in your sites to see - it is packed full with amazing things like Alexander'tomb and many many others spread across 3 buildings! It has a very cheap refreshment hut in the peaceful shaded grounds great to relax or take a picnic.

“A Fine Little Hotel”

A clean compact room. Fresh towels and sheets on daily basis. Hotel staff ready and quick to help, eg replace burnt out light bulb, etc. Friendly staff. Hotel central to Istanbul tourist attractions. Good buffet breakfast and a good restaurant. Reasonably priced.

“For the price - Simply the best”

If you want budget price with excellent service you won't beat this place. Without exception the hotel staff were wonderful. Neither I nor my companions have anything but praise for them all. Nothing was too much trouble. I've never had a hug from the booking director when I left before either! I can't understand why people have moaned about the breakfast - we found it to be a standard european breakfast - if you want full english or silver service - go pay for it! Ok, so the hotel is a bit tired, but it's getting a make over next year. So the shower is just near the loo - big deal, get over it! Sitting outside on the huge cushions is a must - just watch everyone going about their business and play with the very friendly cats. I know that the staff will read this so I would personally just like to say a huge "thank you" for making our stay so memorable.

“Small but Perfectly formed (where's the sick bag :-o)!!”

Am I glad I took notice of previous positive reviews. The hotel is small but offers so many plus's:- Only yards from Tramway stop at Gulhane - cost from Ataturk airport was only 3TL (2 x 1.5TL for each leg of journey), Metro from basement of airport, then change at 2 options onto Tramway - so very easy and helpful at Tram ticket office. Hotel is very close (walking distance) to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Topkapi Palace, Waterfront and Tramway to get cheaply to terminus. Our room was quite small but along with bathroom had recently been refurbished and offered as much comfort as needed, we had a single and double bed in room. Breakfast was adequate bread was lovely, and meat, cheese, tomatoes, cucumber, olives etc were superbly fresh and so many jams and spreads to choose from. Has an ajoining bar and reasonably priced restaurant. If went to Istanbul again we would not hesitate to stay there.

“Best hotel for tourist area”

The hotel was welcoming, clean and conveniently located. The room was just the right size. The buffet was average. The television didn't always work reliably. The bar/ cafe during the evenings is a great place to hangout, drink coffee/tea, smoke nargileh before going to bed. The hotel is very centrally located to all the major historic buildings, mosques, museums and transportation to beyond. I felt safe at all hours walking around the neighborhood. I'd stay there anytime again.

The helped to find places of interested that I wanted to see, provided airport shuttle, wake up calls, clean rooms, and a good breakfast. I will defintely stay here again when I return in a couple months.

“Great City: Great Location”

The hotel is in a fantastic position for making the most of Istanbul. Most of the cities main attractions are 10 to 15 minutes walk away and the area is surrounded by restaurants. Although the hotel is basic I think it is great for the active traveller. However, one word of warning ; the breakfast is very basic.
