“Good value and location”

Rooms are excellent, pool is pretty ordinary but other facilities good. We thought the buffet breakfast was excellent and good value. Housekeeping let us down on service on a couple of occasions.

“Would recommend BUT.....”

As an frequent traveller, it seems nowadays that a 4 to 4 1/2 star motel isn't the quality it used to be, nor what it should be! I really can't complain about this place, for it was fine, service good, friendly, good area..., but not what i would consider to be nearly a 5 star complex. A simple tart-up of the rooms doesn't cut it for me. Just adding a marble bathroom vanity top or a quick paint job to a fairly run-down structure is not nearly good enough. Our King bed was hard yet OK, shower screen was abysmal and flooding the floor wasn't just a possibility, but almost a certainty. Cleanliness was just OK, for there were some very obvious sticky stains around the patio door that were never cleaned and the small dot marks that remained around the toilet on the floor were pretty ordinary at best. Would still recommend but plenty of other options around the same price-point that would better qualify for the high star rating.

“Definitely a winner”

“Not hotel but room service was SLACK”

the hotel was nice but room service was very poor. they came to service room before 10am and when they saw us they said they would come back but didnt. We had to ring front desk and ask for toilet paper and fresh towel. In room food service was very very disappointint. poor quality.

“Close to everything”

This motel is walking distance to Cavill Avenue where everything is going on. The only surprise we found on check in was that car parking was additional. The lift to the car park was not working.

“Hotel of choice for all travel to the Gold Coast”

This is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and on both occasions it has been an absolute treat. Whenever I travel to the Gold Coast in the future I will be staying here. Rooms are well maintained and extremely comfortable and there is a pillow menu to select from, room service and housekeeping are prompt (although the quality of some of the items on the take out room service menu isn't anything special), staff always do everything they can to help you, didn't come across anyone with a poor attitude, great location, 2min walk to beach & 5-10min walk to Cavill Ave. Great value too, especially considering all the little extras, although the cost of the WiFi in the rooms is a little pricey.

“Stay at the Holiday Inn (just avoid Serenity Spa at all costs)”

Staying at the Holiday Inn proved to be an enjoyable experience. Check-in was seamless and we were given a brilliant room overlooking the ocean on the eighteenth floor. We sampled both room service and the breakfast buffet and were impressed by the quality of both. Our hotel was well-positioned and only a stroll away from shops and the beach. However the most pleasing aspect of our stay was our customer experience. The staff were welcoming, responsive, courteous, professional and demonstrated a great service ethos. In particular they appropriately escalated our concerns in relation to Serenity Spa (this is independently operated within the hotel complex and is the WORST EVER Spa service we have encountered nationally and internationally so be wise and take your business elsewhere as there are ample other options in Surfers). We look forward to returning to the Holiday Inn upon our next visit to the Gold Coast.
