“Home away from home”

Stunning location, friendly & helpful staff, free parking and our room was home away from home. Our whole family loved it. Highly recommended. I couldnt think of anywhere else i'd rather stay. We will be back for sure!!

“Great Vacation”

We had a wonderful stay at the hotel. Rooms are spacious , kitchen is well equiped although a little bit old. Hotel's location is very accessible to all , transport is just at the door step. Margaret and Peter is so accomodating and very helpfull. We would love to stay again at Moorings .

“Don't Judge a Book by it's Cover”

Moorings on Cavill should be regarded as an apartment building rather than a conventional 'hotel'. The building has tenants, no daily service, byo toilet paper (or pay for more than one roll) and you have to empty your bins into a chute. It's appearance is old compared to the newer buildings surrounding it, however the rooms were very decent in size which was a nice surprise. Being on the top floor (forteenth) our river facing room had very nice views from the spacious balcony. The location of the hotel is perfect as it is not so close to the heart of Cavill avenue to be noisy or overly busy but is near enough to walk everywhere necessary. The reception workers were pleasant and welcoming, giving out brochures and helpful bus timetables. I was slightly disappointed there was only a wall unit a/c in the lounge room but leaving the fans on, curtains drawn and a/c only when in the room at 24degrees left the apartment at a pleasant temperature. Also, the keys given to the apartment have a scanner to open to doors after hours i.e. before 9am and after 5pm which was a bit of a perk but we weren't told how to use it by the staff, but it's easy enough to figure out. Overall, a pleasant stay.

“Value for Money”

Reasonable Price, Good Location, Clean Rooms Only One key was provided which can get bit inconvenient sometimes.

“it was the only mistake i've done in choosing a hotel during my holiday in gold coast”

i got an apartment with a river view but the problem is the location of the hotel is too noisy near some bars. also, the furniture of my apartment is too old and the curtain is bad cause its dedicated for offices not for a bedroom (the sun lamp entering the room).

“WARNING!!!”

Moorings seemed plesant, nice greeting from the owners, room was very nice with great view over the river and a large deck. I stayed with my family/children and we all had good comments on the place. However... If you own any valuables, or have them with you on holiday I do NOT advise you to stay here, security is VERY poor with only 1 camera in the entrance lobby. Strangers can come and go, get access to the lift and right to your room door, where there are no cameras at all. On Arrival we were straight away warned to lock our door at all times as thieves target the rooms here. Alarm bells should have rang at this point, however I locked and checked my room door EVERY time I came and left. I believe I was targeted and watched. My room was entered by somebody, alot of cash stolen, and thats it even tho I had many other valuables in plain sight! As my door lock was not damaged or tampered with, (just unlocked) i wonder If this was an inside job???? Devistated!! Staff were mildly simpathetic... and later when I rang hotel from police station to find out if it had been cleaned , the staff were ver cold and blunt with me. WILL NOT STAY HERE AGAIN!!!!!
