“Great if you're driving”

The hotel is a great value. It's large and is more of a condo than a hotel. Larger rooms have their own parking cover that allow you to drive up to the door. For family travellers that have a lot of luggage, this is extremely useful. The location is hardly scenic with the hotel right next to a highway. However, they did a good job planting a lot of trees and flowers to mask the industrial-like surrounding. The restaurant is decent with large plates available at a decent rate. There is a bus that goes into the city every half hour, but I believe it is better to stay away from this hotel unless you are driving. Fair warning, you can only exit the highway to access the hotel going into the city (travelling North). This is a great hotel for a family trip.

Area recommendations

Madrid has something for everyone. We enjoyed the Warner Bros. Park and the Zoo Aquarium although American amusement parks are much better by comparison. If culture is what you want, head into the city and check out the many museums it has to offer.

When to go

July-August is hot but many Madridians head for the beach in this time frame. This left the city relatively uncrowded. We didn't wait in any lines for rides at the Warner Bros. Park and the Zoo was not over-crowded either.

Getting around

Do not depend on your GPS. Much of Madrid's highways are underground.
