"Nice hotel close to station (Santa Maria Novella)"
Great hotel in a quite residential district within easy walking distance to the centre of town. Lively Street with restaurants and a cinema nearby. Can recommend the restaurant Il Profeta (Address: Borgo Ognissanti, 93/r). Hotel staff very friendly and the room lovely and clean (and warm).
Staff and facilities were all excellent there really is no more to add apart from a wish that the trees obstructing the view of the city could be severely reduced. The location is dreamy and romantic with access to the town being made easy by an excellent shuttle bus service.

Placed on the slope of Fiesole elegant hill in the hamlet of Maiano; the Villa offers splendid views of Florence and of …More
I would say our experience in this hotel in Florence would be so so...
The highlight is, it close to city center. About 10-15 min walk from the train station which is good. Just about 1 block away from Academia (a museum that houses statue of David).
You need to check in at a different hotel which is hotel Delfino just about 20mtrs away from Casa Micol or else you can't get in since there is no information desk. We got our room in the third floor which i don't mind since we can handle it. There is an elevator that is good for 1 person only, will carry 2 if your small.
Going to the room, bed is not that comfortable, washroom is about 6x6 foot in size, has a sink, toilet and a shower. In my opinion, I am not really impressed with it. Furthermore, our room has a spiral stairs inside which looks like an attic?? I tried to check it out up stairs but there is nothing but full of dust. Sounds creepy at first but we got over it. I think we just got lucky we end up on that room that was in the end of the hall. Seems to be quite at night which is better so that you can have a descent sleep.
All in all i would rate it 3/5? maybe 2.5 but because it is close to academia i would say 3. As they say you get what you payed for. Of all places in Italy I've been so far, Florence is the most expensive one. For sure Venice it would be but we stayed in Mestre to save a bit. Wrapping things up, I still didn't regret it, We only stayed there for 2 nights anyway and it is cheap.
Enjoy your trip!!!
This was a great hotel, well priced for staying in Florence. It was well situated near public transit so that one's own vehicle was not needed to see the inner city of Florence. The staff was very helpful in terms of telling which bus to use to come and go. There was a nice pool for guest use. The pool area was very clean and well maintained. Breakfast was included in our price. It was a good, hot breakfast. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to others.
Arriving at the bus terminal, a short walk got us to the hotel. I had made a mistake in the reservations (we wanted to stay a 4th day) which was corrected, though there was a cost difference.
The hotel has both dignity and elegance, with beautiful woodwork and artwork. The food was beyond our expectations.
Recognised the place as soon as we arrived, the photos are exactly right. Staff were instantly friendly and our room was comfortable and completely practical and all we needed. It was quite big enough for the 2 of us. The shower was great and the bed too. It is a little out of town but still quite walkable, think it was quieter away from the crowds of town.
