“Most Accomodating!”
I had driven from the Midlands for a wedding in Brighton and needed a reasonably price hotel with parking with an early checkin. This hotel had it all. Despite their normal checkin being 2pm they arrange for me to checkin at 1pm as wedding started at 2pm. I would definately consider and recommend this hotel in the Preston suburb of Brighton
“friendly & helpful”
Staff were friendly & helpful the room was well priced, the hotel located next to the park - i'd use it again
“Convenient hotel”
Being a Brighton native, I wanted a hotel that was close enough to downtown while being away from the heavy city traffic. Free parking as well meant this hotel served us well in that dept. The room was comfortable, and having a tea kettle was great. The tiny tv was pretty poor with only local channels. The room was very warm, and having the window open onto the A23 was noisy. The corridors are extremely small and windy. This made baggage difficult to carry to the room. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The free internet was useless and I was never to get it working. Overall satisfied for what we needed. but it could use some work.
“cheap”
The cheapest I could find in Brighton. Didn't expect much, didn't get much!
“Unfriendly welcome!”
The welcome was very unfriendly, booked a cab twice from the telephone in reception and it didn't show both times. The hotel smelt very musty and the rooms were nowhere near worth the price paid!
“A standard hotel”
Nice enough, clean, quiet and 10/15 min walk to the centre of town.
“scokets not working!”
some of the sockets in the room did not work the trouser press had failed th PAT test (sticker showed this) the doors to the balcony did not lock there was no shower curtain in the bath I asked the receptionist if there was any info on bus routes / times etc. 'Yes - on the bus stop outside the hotel' I asked what time the hotel doors were locked. 'The lock's broken at the moment so it doesn't matter what time you come in' It's a good job because the intercom wasn't working either However, the bed was clean and comfortable and the towels were clean
“Slightly below expectations for price”
Apart from the hotel staff which was very kind and helpful, the hotel is slightly below what I expected from the price range. I understand it's cheap but I believe the last time it was last refurbished was 40 years ago, and in bad taste. The furniture in the room looks even older than that and worn out. The breakfast was very good, the room was clean, all in all I've had all the essentials for a good night's sleep but no more.
“not impressed”
traffic noise keep us awake most of the night, room poorly furnished and extremely small, difficulty find room due to the confusing signing
“Worst hotel I have stayed in, especially for the price”
The hotel was well over priced and in a state of near dilapidation. I changed rooms, as my first room was totally unacceptable and grubby. My second room, was a little better but curtains were hanging off the rail, lights did not work and there were toe nail cuttings left on the bedroom floor; the bed cover was grubby, the curtains dirty, the tap in the basin had parts missing, the lights in the corridor were not working and the whole place had the appearance of an ill kept and rundown establishment. I have already sent a letter of complaint to the General Manager but he has not replied. One man, in front of me, at the desk was cancelling his stay as he had also found the hotel unacceptable and over priced. The breakfast was exceedingly poor, offering uncovered croissants and uncovered bowls of cereal. There were no pastries or yoghurts and the fruit salad consisted of tinned fruit. The hotel was a disgrace to Expedia. The staff were pleasant and friendly.
