"Good sized room with comfortable king bed, large TV (helpfully with guide indicating English and French channels); quiet effective fridge, coffee machine. No safe. Shower needs a descale to rub effectively. Room cleaned well. Breakfast offering was ok but not up to level we has expected from previous Holiday Inns we have stayed in - our view, others may be happy. Hotel is very close to Place d'Armes metro station so good connection to rail station. Easy walk into Old Montreal - about 5 mins and 10-15 mins to Big Wheel, Cirque du Soleil etc. Chinatown is just around corner of hotel with huge range of restaurants. There are quite a number of rough sleepers in the area, including the type who like to shout down the street at nothing in particular. We didn't experience any issues but just link in many cities, you will encounter them. We used the metro to go to 2 stations and get the 747 bus to Montreal airport. A ticket bought at the metro gives free travel for 24 hours before you leave. We left Friday teatime and got on where the bus started....it was packed by the time it collected folk at stops along the way and took over an hour to get there due to traffic. In summary the hotel is in a good location. Good base to stay near easy connections"
