"This lodging was just perfect and Mary Ellen was the best host ever! We arrived around midnight after a lengthy delay on the ferry from Santorini to find a bottle of red wine, home baked pastries and excellent check-in instructions. Mary Ellen stopped by the next morning to greet us with fresh baked pastries from her favorite bakery and lots of helpful information about Crete. We can’t say enough about our stay there and highly recommend this lodging!"

"We stayed at Portou House for 5 nights and had an excellent time. Very good location in Chania Old Town. Communication was great from start to finish with Julia being very responsive. We were pleasantly surprised with a bottle of wine for my Partner’s birthday which was a nice touch.
