“Perfect for families with small children”

We had a 5 night stay at the Westin Lagunamar over Presidents Day weekend and loved every minute of it. The pool areas are outstanding, the kids LOVED the waterside, and the view from the room was breathtaking. We stayed in the newer part of the hotel that was just opened in Feb. 2012 in a studio, with a family of 4, and it was perfect size. The location is great as well as there is a huge mall right across the street.

“Excellent week in cancun”

We had an excellent week long stay at the westin lagunamar. The location is perfect. It is right across from the mall which has tons of options for food and shopping. There were two negatives though. First, the hotel has one restaurant for breakfast which was expensive and not that great. Other than McDonald's across the street there were very little options each morning. Also, finding a chair by the pool was an issue everyday. We had to get to the pool around 7am each morning to get a decent spot. If you waited till 830 or 9 there would be nothing available. We did go Easter week which made the hotel very crowded. This might not be an issue at other times. Other than those two things, the hotel was beautiful and would stay there again.

“Great Vacation!”

The swimming pool is amazing and its bar as well. Excellent location. Isla Mall and bus stop are just at the entrance of the hotel. Buses are a good mean of transportation (cheap $1, clean and always available) from the hotel to downtown or any other place at the beach. The hotel should offer king size beds instead of queen size beds. Room with dishwasher, laundry, dryer, oven, refrigerator etc. The beach is very beautiful but the sea current was very strong all days. We spend most of the time at the pool. Staff at the pool very kind and polite.

“Can't wait to go back!!”

This resort is top notch!!! The swimming pool is amazing and the view from our balcony was breathtaking. We were right above the Mayan ruins and also had a beautiful view of the beach. The only negative was the lack of wi-fi. I never connected. There was a computer room which was open 24hrs, but the internet was very slow. It actually ended up being a plus for our family as we enjoyed our stay in Cancun and were not on our electronic devices all week. A fabulous vacation overall!!!

“Choice spot in Cancun”

All the positives said by other reviewers are true. It is a nice spot. The bed, pillows and linens are perfect. Here are the negatives: 1. The hallways are outside and made of concrete and pebbles. It is very noisy when people move their luggage and the cleaning crew move their carts. It woke us up everyday. 2. In the bedroom, on the wall across from the bed at the ceiling there is a vivid smoke detector that flashes a strobe light. Very annoying. 3. The air-conditioning works, but in the middle of the night it gets warm and if you set it down for comfort then, you are frozen by morning. We could not figure out why, but it seems as if the central hotel system may control this. 4. The cold water in the bathroom sink runs so hot that by the time you wash your face, the rinse burns it, not to mention brushing your teeth! 5. Each day we had to call for towels. They never left the same amount. They did bring them in a timely manner. It just would be nice to have consistency.

“Beautiful!”

Beautiful ocean views, very well equipped kitchens including a d/w and washer/dryer, excellent service, good value happy hour (2 for 1). I took my two teenage daughters and they loved it. The hotel was quiet enough for me and included a 'quieter' pool, but was also lively enough for them with a more 'happening' pool and organised entertainment and trips to nightclubs. We went in May and the hotel had plenty of beach and pool chairs available and the weather was gorgeous. Also liked the on-site grocery store and DVD rental #it rained one evening#.

“Fantastic Experience, Friendly Staff”

This hotel was wonderful. It had everything and more. Since there was a full kitchen, we were able to make our own drinks in the room and take them to the pool. The hotel staff didn't mind. Everyone was so friendly. We ate every day by the pool.. The food was wonderful and reasonably priced. The hotel was very clean and very convenienlty located. Walking distance to The Luxury Mall, Flamingo Plaza (Margaritaville, Outback, Bubba Gumps) and of course La Isla is right across the street. I got sick while I was there, and the conceirge was so helpful in getting me to the pharmacy and saving me money by not seeing a doctor. They want you to listen to their ownership program (like a timeshare) and will give a you voucher towards your stay or food. They mentioned it only twice and there was no pressure after that. We didn't listen to the presentation and they were fine with that. Overall, it was a great experience and if we go back, we will definitely stay again. We had a one bedroom villa and it was very nice!
