“Please look elsewhere..”

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The room purchased was way too small and the curtains were falling apart. I had no choice but to pay for an upgrade. That didn't go well either as there were mosquitoes since there weren't any screens on the back entrance doors. The curtains were stained. When asked if we can switch to the 2nd floor she denied me because I would then have to pay a cleaning fee. There's no daily housekeeping so be conservative.. For all that money I've spent on upgrade I would recommend you guys to search other places. Thanks

“Know what you're getting”

I think if you know what you're getting, then you'll be fine. We got a special rate on expedia, much lower than all other hotels, which was great. But we didn't know that most of the place is apt.'s and we would have an "add on" room, meaning VERY SMALL, and no cleaning service all week. We could hardly turn around, only had one night table, and almost no light. We requested more lamps, and after the second request we got one, which helped a bit. The pool had 4 lounge chairs, one was broken. The staff was incredibly nice and accommodating, but it's just not set up for a traveler who isn't planning to stay in an apartment. But it was clean (when you got there) and fairly modern, so if you are willing to give up hotel ammenities for cost, then this is a good option as well.

“Shabby hotel stay, not impressed one bit”

The bad thing about this hotel was almost EVERYTHING. There's nobody who can help you with luggage. We assumed it would be nice and bright like what we saw on the internet but NO. It was GLOOMY (bc we were at the end of the hotel and surrounded by trees and bushes) and nonetheless CRAMPED. I felt almost claustrophobic in the room. Once we opened the door, the bed was RIGHT there. The "king" sized bed were 2 twin sized beds put next to each other. Also, there is no safe, two huge jungle cockroaches came crawling in, concierge at night had an attitude problem, NO room service unless you stay longer than a week that means NO clean towels, the shower had no door & all the water leaked out onto the floor, the bathroom rug got soaked immediately. Continental breakfast were just small boxes of cereal, juice & cold bread. It was about eight bucks per person. The beach is about a 10-15 mins walk depending on your pace. Keep in mind that this is not an urban area. It's rural! There are absolutely no lights on the streets. It is dark. And, the alleyway you have to walk to get to the beach during night (sun sets early) to go have dinner is creepy and long if it's your first time. BRING a flashlight. We saw an animal coming out from the bushes and it scared the daylights out of me. We just headed back for the room and ordered pizza instead.

“Mango Lagoon Resort & Disaster Spa”

We were completely dissatisfied with this "hotel." First, the reception area is only open until 6 PM. Extremely inconvenient. Second, our room was SMALL. The hotel staff pushed 2 twin beds together to make 1 king for my husband and I. There was next to no room left. The hotel gave us 2 bath towels and 2 beach towels. The room was serviced once in 7 days. If we wanted new towels, soap, toilet paper, etc. we had to pay a fee. We had to take out our own trash at the end of the week. The website advertised laundry services and internet access. The laundry was their own machines behind the reception desk, which we could use while they were open. Only till 6. The wireless internet did not work in our room, and there was 1 computer in the lobby for everyone to use. We were having problems with the computer, and the woman at the desk walked by us twice and never stopped to help us. The staff was less than friendly and not helpful in any way. We came with the expectation of this being a hotel, but our room was just that...a room. No hotel style amenities. It seems they mainly rent out apartment style rooms. Had we known what this was, we would not have booked here. We will NOT be back, and we will NOT recommend this to anyone. Do not stay here!
