“Guggenheim Museum stopover”
The hotel quality was more than consistent with the price. The facilities were sort of "old Europe" (narrow corridors, small and slow elevators), but I considered them more than acceptable, considering the price and the location -- close to the center of the city and the Guggenheim Museum. The staff was helpful and attentive. there was a nearby parking garage, as advertised. The included breakfast was OK.
“Perfect location -- great value”
This hotel is perfectly located :a 10 minute walk to the Guggenheim and 15 minutes in the other direction to the Old City. It is situated in a lovely residential area on the river bank. Our room, 201, was spacious, impeccably clean, large marble bathroom, and roomy entrance hall with desk. Free internet. Very helpful and friendly staff. We ate breakfast in a cafe around the corner. 5 euros for the two of us, as opposed to the 12 euros apiece for the hotel breakfast buffet. The only negtive comment : we could hear plumbing from room next door.
“Good location, clean and affordable.”
All concierge speaks very good English and they are very kind to tell us about the special Christmas market taken place on that day we arrive. Location of the hotel is quite convenient, very close to Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and to the tram stop. Old town is within 10mins walking distance. Room is very clean and comfortable. I would stay again if I have a chance to go to Bilbao again.
“Would stay again”
The BW Conde Duque is ideally placed for a stay in Bilbao. It is not a high tech modern hotel but it has everything you want. Also it is walking distance to all most everywhere. You have a choice on interior room - which surrounds a very small courtyard with private flats - so the windows to the room are etched so you cannot see out. The window opens slightly - but the noise is minimal. Exterior rooms have a view to the side and back - and to be honest our friends who stayed in these said that it made no difference as you don't spend time in your room. Very clean and tidy. The only downside was the bar which closed early. We didn't eat in the hotel so cannot comment. The lounge area had free pc's and wifi - and comfy chairs. Good to meet people and chat.
“Hotel near river location”
The hotel is in a really good location near the river and a lovely bridge. You have good access to the town and surrounding areas. The room was smaller than on the photos but was clean and comfortable. The cleaner changed the linen and towels every day. We had a problem with no hot water for 4 days, when we tried to explain to the manager/receptionist they were not very helpful as could not speak much English and didnt offer us an alternative room.They did get a plumber into fix the problem as it affected all the hotel but they didnt manage to sort it our before our departure.
