Staff was excellent. Hotel very clean. Unfortunately property look is very old and have no minibar or air conditioner. Centralized AC/Heater just switch by weather station .

In a wonderful area! We loved staying there, staff was super friendly and helpful. Room was smaller than we expected and the Walls are thin and it can get very noisy as people are coming in and out. Overall it was perfect!

Solo travelker
Hotel very clean. But make sure your room if a solo traveller is not next to the lift. Definitely a no no if you are a light sleeper people coming in until 5 am and starting to leave at 6.30am. But staff very pleasant. Would definitely stay again but not in a room next to the lift

Avoid, pictures seem nice ut is old and smells like drain through the night. Expensive for the type of hotel. Not recommended, not even if you are a bagpacker.

The property is in a GREAT location in the Gothic Quarter. It is tucked away in a quiet, out-of-the-way side street. Quite romantic and atmospheric. SAFE. About a five-minute walk from the boulevard known as Las Ramblas. And about a five-minute walk from the Placa Reil. I am going to book there again. Believe me. I am.

Hotel is in a convenient area, close to anything you might be interested in. The worst part of our stay were the mattresses, you could hear the springs when you moved, other than that it was a great hotel because of the location and service.

I have stayed at several hundred hotels across Europe and the world, and this is easily one of the worst. They said they have only 3 rooms with windows (like the photo they advertise), the rest are dark and without windows. The first room was behind the elevator (with an elevator access port in the wall, and it had black mold in the bathroom. The hotel would not put us in another room until one of the same type became available on the second night. So we stayed elsewhere the first night, without refund. They did offer us a different room on the second night, and it was slightly better. For one, the bathroom did not have mold. The walls of this hotel are too thin…you hear everything both inside and outside, and it is in a noisy area. The entire place has a stench that has been poorly covered up with some type of fragrance….just awful. We ordered a taxi for the morning, and after three attempts and 40 minutes realized their service is unreliable. As a result we were late to the airport…but just made our flight. SO many better places to stay…do yourself a favor.

Was what we expected for the price. Would say though the beds were very uncomfortable and we could hear every movement and conversation on our floor. Overall was in a good location for getting around and the room was kept clean.

Very different but someone really spent time designing the hotel. Rooms are small but have tv, a/c and bathroom. It is located in the Gothic district near the town hall. Lots of restaurants nearby. Wish the room would have had a little kettle for morning tea or coffee. Staff pleasant

The location is great but our room had a smell of sewer, room has AC but it is set to 23 and you’re unable to change the setting so we’d wake up in sweat. Shower is slippery, our first night while in the shower I slipped and fell, hit my shoulder and head , I sent my husband to the front desk to get an ice pack but the lady at the front desk said they didn’t have ice, following morning when we went down, I mentioned to the older guy at the front desk that their shower is slippery, that I had fallen and hit my head hard, all I got was “ we’ll look into it”, no apology, didn’t even ask if I was ok. There is a sign at the front desk to order taxi to go to airport, please do not, you can easily get a taxi at the plaza, just a few steps from hotel, if you order a taxi to pick you up at the hotel, you’ll get charged additional 7.10€ before you even get on the taxi.

Rooms pictured in advertising are false. Rooms were not even as big as our ship statesroom. Every time toilets in our room or neighboring rooms were flushed the shower gurgled loudly ! Walls paper thin and we could hear conversations in the hall and other rooms on our floor.

The hotel is located in the heart of the action and close to metro stations. All of the staff was wonderful and I love the free access to coffee or tea in the lobby. The room was spacious, but my only issue was the bed comfort. Although my spouse disagrees.

The location of this hotel is super convenient for central tourist attractions, it's super walkable, and it's near busy-ish streets so it feels safe to walk to/from at night. But it kinda goes downhill from there. My room was super tiny and horribly lit with small, frosted glass windows that opened to air shafts (nothing like the photos imply). The bed was really uncomfortable, there's zero sound insulation (so I could hear my neighbors using the bathroom, talking... everything) with a bare minimum of amenities--tiny lobby, no breakfast or restaurant on site, no mini bar, no coffee maker or kettle in the room, bar soap and shampoo are the only toiletries, water is 1.50 Euros a bottle (and tap water is pretty gnarly). Staff were perfectly friendly, but in general, your money is going to location for this hotel, and if you want a comfortable, relaxing place to come back to... you'll probably be disappointed.

I enjoyed El Call very much. Daniel at the front desk was very helpful as were all the staff. The location in the Gothic area was fabulous. There were a few things I wished they had...CNN channel, and a fridge in the room. I did feel the beds were not very comfortable, very firm. I missed having a tub. But all in all I would stay there again.

Nice hotel in an excellent location in the middle of the Gotic quarter. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and in good condition. What let it down was that the double room was very small (it felt like a single room with a double bed in it) and it had no natural light. There was a small window but it opened onto a service duct or something like that and didn't allow any light into the room. Had to turn on the lights in the middle of the day to avoid tripping over the furniture. The lack of light and the small room made it feel very claustrophobic. It felt like a store room with a bed in it. The en-suit bathroom was a decent size and very clean. Having said that, when I asked to be moved, the staff were accommodating and helpful so I only stayed in that room for the first night.
