“Sublime”
This boutique hotel will make Bali the wonderful and beautiful place you are dreaming of, rather than the over commercialized and/or overcrowded experience of the beach areas. It can only be described as gorgeous and sensuous; the staff friendly and competant. We stayed 4 days and found it to be perfectly situated for walking to town and nearby gallery's and restaurants.
“A piece of heaven”
The experience started with the driver picking us up at the airport. He was very competent. The hotel was delightful and our villa with its size and private pool was well beyond our expectations. The staff were most courteous and helpful.
“Paradise found”
Serene large Baliness style individual villas in a beautiful peaceful setting. Perfect for a quiet and private getaway - it was just wonderful. Transport to and from airport was included but we had not been advised so unfortunately had arranged our own transport at a cost.
“Experience of a lifetime”
If you want peaceful revitalising time out that uplifts the spirits this is the place to come. Just outside busy central Ubud it's within walking distance to town with a reliable shuttle bus if you prefer this. The complex is filled with greenery and the foyer has an outlook across Campuan Ridge that makes you gasp when you first enter. Every 'villa is a private enclave and the staff are friendly and not too intrusive. This Bali owned hotel is about 15 years old and many staff we spoke to had been there for more than a decade - so they must be good employers! We were upgraded to a villa with a private plunge pool and if you can afford it we highly recommend that, as it made our stay. The complimentary breakfast is great and in a dining area with a magnificent view. For other meals we chose to eat out in the many restaurants in central Ubud and Penestanan offering excellent vegetarian and raw food choices. Additionally we patronised the good and affordable nearby Sedona spa and other reflexology places in town rather than the expensive hotel spa. Pita Maha is so peaceful however that you'll be tempted not to leave the hotel and it's not the 'real' Ubud so, given this is at the upper end of the market, you might like to spend a few days here to replenish jagged nerves before moving on to much more affordable accommodation that feels more connected to the surrounding community. We were two women travelling together but other patrons were couples or families.
