“Great Family Hotel”

The Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali is a great hotel for families, particularly if you have little ones. Facilities are excellent, and the hotel's pricing (for meals, drinks etc) includes both service charge and taxes - so no nasty surprises when you receive the bill! The kids club was a real favourite of our son. The staff are lovely, and very caring. At the breakfast restaurant, they have provided a order form for your eggs, so that your eggs are fresh, and no queing up for them! A great idea! Not really the place to stay with older kids, as it is a bit out of the action. Lots of good places to eat outside the hotel though. It is

“Will definately be staying at this hotel again”

We took our office crew there for a weekend away (17 of us in total). The location of the hotel is brilliant - close enough to Kuta to walk (15 mins) but far enough away to be out of the"rat race". We had a family suite which was better than any other 5 star resort I have stayed in. The service was great. I would highly recommend this hotel for couples or families alike. Everyone commented on how much they liked the hotel. We are now thinking of making the trip an annual event and would definately be staying at this hotel.

Getting around

A taxi from the holiday inn Baruna to downtown Kuta is only 9000 Rp (about $1 AUD).

“The BEST Hotel on the Beach in KUTA !!”

I discovered this Hotel while walking on the boardwalk in Kuta. The hotel is in TUBAN which is an extension of KUTA. The hotel is really 1st rate ! Very modern. The lighting in the room is SEXY. A great hotel for a Honeymooon; also very convenient for Families. TEA TREE SPA - you'll be serenaded by the sounds of the Ocean just steps away; The MASSAGE is a taste of 'HEAVEN ON EARTH' -- INDULGE ! The Couple's Massage is pure ROMANCE - Pure BLISS !! “Did not suit us.”

This hotel would suit young families with children with little expectations. They only have two eating places othet than room service. One of the eating places was closed off one night for a private function - We were not impressed as we wrere not advised prior to booking. We paid for a hotel with all ammenaties available for our use.

“This hotel is not bad. Not extremely great either”

Holiday Inn was OK. Room was a bit small, there was never enough pool lounges when we went to the pool area.

“Holiday Inn lives up to its name”

The hotel is very near the Denpasar Airport, but nevertheless, the airport cab fare was very very high and the locals love to cut queue. Beware! Hotel was recently renovated, like the other Holiday Inns we have stayed in, very comfy and clean. They even gave us a little chocolate cake to celebrate our wedding anniversary. So nice of them! The pool and suntanning area are nice with cool music. The staff were very friendly and quick to response to enquiries. The Tea Spa was great! Hotel breakfast was great. The beach is right at the back of the hotel. However, the Bali Town is quite some distance away and hardly able to walk. The hotel helped us booked the indonesian BBQ seafood dinner at the beach. A little expensive, but think it is worth a try. Neighborhood is quiet and dark at night. We did not try to roam about.

Tuban, near to the beach, away from the crowd, very near the airport, town is 10 min away on cab.

“Quiet new and well maintained Hotel”

I stayed on 3rd floor on the left wing from the reception. My budget Delux room was OK but small and a very tainy terrace facing the oposite side of the pool. No noice from the airport witch is only 5-10 min away by car.

Area recommendations

Good location on the end of Kuta beach. Quit area only 15- 20 minits walk from the bussy Kuta with planty of good restaurants bars and a bussy night life.

“No surprises”

Wow what a great resort. From the time we checked in to the time we left, the place was great. We received a free upgrade without asking , their breakfast was superb and the rest of the resort was great. It's set about a 15 minute walk along a stone pathway on the beachaway from the hectic Kuta beach so it is very quiet. Overall a great experience. The food at the hotel is a little pricey but there are all kinds of restaurants nearby.

“Bliss. Highly recommend this fabulous resort.”

This was a fabulous resort to stay. All staff were professional and friendly and willing to help. The room was cleaned fastidiously everyday. The pool was clean and deep and the swim up bar was very nice indeed and happy hour at the pool was a bonus. There was entertainment every night with local dancers, drummers and a DJ at the Envy cocktail bar. The beach was clean and very few hawkers to bother you. Far enough away from Kuta to avoid the noise and bustle but a 15 minute stroll up the beach on the pathway if you do want to shop. The buffet breakfast was extremely good with everything and anything you desire and the food at Envy was delicious and reasonable. Lovely place to stay don't bother with the departure lounge as you can wait at the cocktail bar or relax in the wonderful reception area.

Area recommendations

Ubud. Get away from the noise and experience the rice padi's.

Getting around

Use the bluebird taxi's. They use meters and are reliable and trustworthy. My son left his phone in the cab and it was returned to him. Bluebird taxi's are everywhere just keep an eye out for them. Make sure you know where you are going though and have the name of the restaurant or shop you want to go to and don't trust drivers recommendations or you could be dropped off at an unexpected location. They get tips to take people to certain restaurants and shops so make sure you know where you are going.
