“Good location BUT”
Not posh, but good value. Very helpful staff. Three public computers for reasonable price. Good location but beware if you are handicappied/disabled. On a steep street and even the first couple of steps of the lobby can be problematical! I crept cautiously up to friendly Nelson restaurant next door, down to convenience store; the latter looks like part of the lobby, but you have to descend to get there. Also has a money exchange in store. My room had a kitchen but the microwave did not work. Across the street is a bungy-jump ride! Buses right at the door, main shopping street at bottom of hill.
“Good value, great location”
Good, basic hotel, great location, decent price, comfortable rooms. I arrived here after a 30h trip and was pleased. When I asked for a bathroom with a tub, they reaccommodated me the following day. The hotel is located across the street from the Sky Tower. Everything is within easy walking distance.
“Excellent hotel for the money.”
This is an excellent hotel for the money. The rooms were good sized, clean and quiet. If I were to look for negatives, I would say that the bathrooms do not have enough counter space and not enough hooks for towels and stuff. There is always a long wait for the elevators for some reason. The location of the hotel is near a plethora of small restaurants which makes finding reasonable food to eat very easy. But gourmet restaurants are a distance away.
“Auckland comfort”
it was very convenient location ,front desk very helpfull, clean hotel ,room service is excellent
“Great location; helpful staff; reasonable price”
A walk with luggage from the central bus station; a short walk to main street; easy walk to waterfront, university, cinema. Staff was very helpful with recommendations: good local bar, good fish and chips etc. plus reasonably accommodating regarding luggage storage, arranging transporatation to airport and so on.
“Very happy, will be back!”
Great value for money: situated in the centre of Auckland with a short walk to the fabulous harbour! A little old but clean - being a single traveller I found it easy to get around: shops and eateries close by: lot of tour information. My room had a kitchen with provisions of tea, coffee, cooking utensils etc. I would definately book again!
“Good value for a central location”
It's perfectly siuated in the CBD and is clean and comfortable. The only problem was the intial greeting service,as I arrived early on Easter Sunday morning - everything closed and the reception staff were simply not prepared to permit an early check-in - 2pm was the only time to be allowed - a five-hour wait and I had all my luggage and a short time there. Only when really pushed and when I was told by the restauranteur that it was indeed possible to go in at 10am did the staff finally relent - most disappointing to find jobsworths in such a circumstance. Once over this hiccup, it was a most pleassant stay.
“Good location”
Shame about the dodgy lifts! (they ere a bit scarey)
“Good location”
Well situated in the city (close to buses, shops, restaurants etc...) and quiet when inside.
“Great place to stay when going to concerts”
Greeted when arrived and allowed to check in early - which was a bonus! as could then head out to sight see. Studio rooms were clean, well presented and suitable for travellers just looking for somehwre to sleep for night. Was within walking distance of Vectre Arena - main concert venue for Auckland. A littled bit noisy at night, despite being 6 floors up...but not enough to keep you awake. Staff helped us book a taxi shuttle to airport (for discounted price too) on last day of stay. Make sure you check out early, the poor staff were rushed off their feet at 10am check out time.
