“Love the Resort!”
This is one of my very favorite places to just go and relax. It is a ski, snowboard resort (winter), and a mountain bike and hiking (summer) resort. I don't do any of these but love the atmosphere, and the staff. There are so many nooks and crannies that you can cuddle up into with a good book, and a snack and watch the skiers come in, or the hikers out on the mountain. I am not a hiker- but I like to walk, and there are so many easy beautiful scenic trails for me also. The restaurants are very good, and the views are wonderful. We did have a problem this time with the toilet in the room, but they fixed it very promptly. No
“Alyeska Resort stay in January, 2012”
This is a lovely resort in a beautiful area outside of Anchorage. I was there for a conference and I have to say the luncheon that was served was delicious, although the conference room was a bit too warm. There was a short power outage, which is not unusual for Alaska. It affected most services briefly, but it apparently affected the Internet server connection in the rooms. I was unable to connect, despite a very nice, knowledgeable computer tech employee's diligent effort. This was a free service. Unfortunately, using the desktop in the business center was not; I paid $15.00 for a few minutes to try to complete business-related correspondence. I feel I should have been given complimentary access to the use of their business center due to the power outage. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay and one of the loveliest walks in the snow at night I've had in a long time.
“Convenience was astounding”
Convenience of everything was remarkable - you could walk to the tram! Great facilities for food, ski tours, and closeness to the slopes
“Staying at Hotel Alyeska made it hard to go home!”
I stayed at Hotel Alyeska off-season, so they were able to upgrade me to a higher floor which had an amazing view of the valley and the mountains. One whole wall of my room was windows - just incredible! The room was spacious, but felt cozy. The bed was extremely comfortable, and there was a separate small couch and chair for watching TV. Everyone I met was friendly and down to earth. I ordered room service, ate in the hotel restaurants, used the spa, shopped in the Sundry Store, used the bell hops, and interacted with housekeeping. All services were excellent, and everyone was gracious and kind. Turn down service each night included chocolates and free bottled water. The public areas of the hotel are charming - fireside lounges, fire pits outside, pond and garden areas, and Alaskan decor. The hotel tram to the top of the mountain was closed for annual service, but this was well publicized on expedia, so I knew before going. I cannot wait to go back in both the summer and winter to experience even more of the Alyeska and the whole Girdwood area!
“Very Nice”
Our stay could not have been better, Spectacular location, great service, nice rooms, helpful and friendly staff and so much to do. Highly recommended.
“Perfectly Relaxing”
We had a very relaxing few days here before embarking on a cruise. The beds are VERY comfortable and the grounds are great. It's very peaceful and the view from the top of the tram is great. Great trails for hiking but not much else to do. OK gym, great pool. The Seven Glaciers restaurant is beyond fantastic (take the tram up for free with reservations).
“Excellent”
Nice location, excellent service. Stayed 4 nights. No drawbacks. Room was large, clean and comfortable. On site ski shop is very convenient for rentals.
“Highlight of our Alaskan cruise!”
After we got off the ship from our Alaskan cruise, we hopped the train for a comfortable ride to the Alyeska. Accommadations were lovely and there was lots to explore. The hotel staff arranged our transportation from Whittier and the trip to the airport. This was a hightlight of a flawless vacation!
“Exceptional Hotel!! We can't wait to go back!!”
We found nothing lacking in this fabulous hotel. The staff was exceptional! They made us feel comfortable and at home in a matter of minutes. We enjoyed every second of our stay and hated to leave! The rooms were cozy and clean, the food was outstanding, and the views are beyond description. In three words, We LOVED it!!
“Alaska's Finest”
The accomodations were very comfy, especially the beds, and the Seven Glaciers restaurant at the top of the mountain was worth every penny.
