“Choice hotel”

Great to see this classic hotel has had some investment. I've enjoyed staying here before but the work they've put in really shows. Rooms are clean and well looked after, nice and warm, great location! Oh and it's great value for money and I enjoy the breakfasts - I don't normally get up for breakfast.

“Excellent location museum district lovely area”

From the air port took the 197 bus 4eu each which stops at tha main entrance to the Rijk museum. The hotel is 50m from here. Hotel is located in the museum district with the Van gough near by well worth a visit .The hotel is situated in a very nice neighbourhood with the most exclusive shopping street in amsterdam next road down. You can walk every where from here, and Amsterdam is better viewed on foot. The Hotel is clean with helpfull staff.A good bar,and serves a buffet breakfast which was more than adequte. Our room was very narrow but long: clean, modern and super shower. There are steep steps at entrance: good lift service to all floors. The hotel is going through rebranding and will be called the" poets",so we were informed. All in all good hotel Amsterdam is not cheap as is is most other european citys', but our visit was well worth it Amsterdam is beautifull. H from UK

“Great Hotel for families.”

Staff at reception were helpful and efficient. Room was large, clean and minimalistic. No tea making facilities but everything else you could want. Room was kept clean daily. We noticed previous reviews complaining about steep stairs. It is true stairs were steep, however, there was a lift (but not to dining room) and it is what you would expect from a traditional Dutch house. Lovely continental breakfast. Great location for Vondel Park, museums and trams to all parts of Amsterdam. Our children are 11 and 9 years old and this hotel and city were very child friendly.
