Author and style guru Mr Jason Grant shares his shopping tips for oh so stylish London.

Colourful London: Columbia Road

The Columbia Road flower markets and the colourful houses in Notting Hill are two things I was really looking forward to seeing while in London. The city seems so grey for most of the year, but in Spring especially, these parts of the city really pop. Pick up a bunch of flavours to brighten up your hotel room.

Light and bright: Lee Broom

Lee Broom is one of London’s shining beacons of design. The leading, award winning designer is all about products and interiors. His showroom/store showcases incredible pieces of furniture, lighting installments and other accessories created using the signature materials of glass, marble and metal. With plenty of clean lines, Broom’s designs are modern yet reference the past in a timeless fashion.

One stop shop: The Conran Shop

A visit to London isn’t complete without a visit to a Conran Shop – my absolute favourite is the Marylebone Store. This three level store is a homewares Mecca, with furnishings, furniture, accessories and more at your fingertips. The store is merchandised brilliantly, with cool displays and zones like the rooftop Garden and The Conran Kitchen (the perfect place to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat). It’s really a one stop shop for everything you need for the home and didn’t know you needed. Definitely a shopping and design highlight.

Fun and quirky: Labour and Wait

This cute corner store in London’s markets district is filled with all kinds of wonderful products designed to make the mundane a little more marvelous. Household products for the kitchen, bathroom as well as gifts and stationery are beautifully presented inside Labour and Wait. Find the ultimate dustpan and brush, canvas aprons, candles, towels, grooming products, things for your pets and more.

Aussies in London

Aussies Designers are taking over London! Fashion Brand Jac + Jack and jewellery homewares favourite Dinosaur Designs both have stores in Soho’s Ham Yard Village, a part of the Ham Yard Hotel. Find awesome modern classic men’s and women’s wear at Jac + Jacks and stunning resin and metal wares at Dinosaur Designs.

Moody and marvelous: Abigail Ohearn

Stylist, author and designer Abigail Ohearn’s store is a treasure trove for the interiors lover that’s filled with fun finds. Her store moody, dark walls surround a collection of home wares, accessories, lighting and deco, all with a touch of whimsy.

Historical London: Liberty London

In my opinion, this is London’s best department store. Filled with gorgeous prints, accessories, home furnishings, furniture, Liberty London is also full of history. Dating back to 1924, the store was built from the timber of two ships in one of my favourite styles, Tudor Revival. It’s a definite must see on any trip to London.

Sunday Barnsbury

Sunday Barnsbury is super cool Aussie Style Café that’s great for brunch (and serves excellent coffee). It makes for the perfect mid-shopping refueling station. 69 Hemingford Rd, London N1 1DA

Sketch

Quite possibly one of the coolest interiors I saw in London, this restaurant and bar has the wow factor. Especially when it comes to the bathrooms! Sketch feels more like a film set than a dining venue, with themed rooms in pink and dark greens. There’s almost a fairytale-esque quality to the space. Head here for awesome cocktails at the bar or book a table for an incredible dinner. It’s worth it just to have peekaboos of the inside of this space.

Spuntino

My favourite restaurant in London (we went back and ate there twice), Spuntino is a spot where you need to sit back and the atmosphere. And the cool cocktails!
