Matemwe6 nights3.5 star property9.4/10 - Exceptional (18 reviews)"Lovely room and the view was phenomenal. Check in says till 11pm but make sure you let them know in advance (we had) but it was clear they were due to go home when we arrived after 10. Food at restaurant was great, and staff very helpful. We dived with the sister hotel and had a great experience. We contacted them ourselves as hotel suggested getting shuttle bus to book but they were responsive via WhatsApp and this was easier."Reviewed September 22, 2026Return • Accra (ACC) - Zanzibar (ZNZ)ACC - ZNZ • 1 stop ZNZ - ACC • 1 stopAU$2,096AU$1,503found 1 day agoper traveller - Ycona Luxury Resort

Nungwi6 nights5.0 star property9.2/10 - Wonderful (773 reviews)"Absolutely first class holiday and resort. Food was exceptionally good, both in the a La Carte restaurants and the buffet, grounds were immaculate, staff were friendly and warm. The pool areas and raised beach were fabulous. If you had a question or needed help with something, dial 9 and reception staff sorted it without ever needing to leave your room. Without doubt one of our best holidays ever and we will be going back next year without a doubt. "The room was very spacious, clean, comfortable bed. New thing for us, was everyday our and kids bed were made for night sleep. Two things was a bit annoying: water pressure in the shower wasn’t very good and the noise few nites (probably some kind water generator sound like helicopter on the roof). I want to recommend a water safari trip we booked with the company based in hotel orange T-shirt and our guide Suri. Best to go afternoon. This trip was amazing we were snorkelling with dolphins, and...
"A wonderful stay in the heart of Stone Town! We stayed at Emerson Spice during our trip to Zanzibar and what a fantastic place it is! The hotel is full of character, with beautiful traditional architecture and a real sense of Zanzibar’s history. It’s completely different from your typical hotel, which is exactly what makes it so special. The location is brilliant for exploring Stone Town, with everything within easy walking distance. The atmosphere is relaxed and authentic, and staying here...
"The property is gorgeous and staff is beyond helpful in everything. Food & drinks were delicious and it’s close to wonderful locations."
"An absolutely amazing stay! The rooms were really nice and comfortable. The place is right on the beach (literally, you step onto sand once you enter through the gate). And I can not say enough about how thoughtful, considerate, and kind ALL of the staff are - (for example, they stood by our chairs when we left our towels etc to go into the ocean without us asking or anything!). Definitely will be recommending to all my friends."
"The room was large and very clean. The staff were very helpful."
