Located just a short walk from the heart of the city centre, The Loft at St Johns Mews is a newly built three-bedroom penthouse apartment, perfect for groups or families wanting to explore this beautiful city.

Upon entering the property, you are greeted with a spacious hallway that leads to the large open-plan living area. An abundance of natural light streams into the apartment from the French doors that open onto a small balcony, where you can enjoy a drink and take in the surroundings.

The modern kitchen, featuring a large central island and breakfast bar, offers a range of top of the line appliances, including a wine cooler. The dining table comfortably seats 7 for dinner and the lounge area provides a large ‘L' shaped sofa, chairs, and a large QLED Smart TV.

All three bedrooms are stylishly presented with comfortable beds for your stay. One room sleeps 3 and features a king-size bed with an additional single, plus a wall-mounted TV. The master bedroom can be set either as a super king or twin beds upon request and includes an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The final bedroom has twin beds.

The main bathroom is equipped with a bath and overhead shower.

Externally, there is a secure car park with an allocated parking space for one car, complete with an electric vehicle charging point. Guests can also make use of a secure bike shed for added convenience.

An excellent stay

My daughter, sisters and I recently had an excellent stay at The Loft at St John's. Although the rooms had limited clothing storage (no wardrobes because of the sloping roofs) the shelving provided was more than adequate for our 5 night stay. The whole apartment was modern and bright and very well equipped especially the kitchen area and the lounge/dining area was very spacious. As the name suggests The Loft is on the top (2nd) floor and due to the lack of a lift this might prove difficult for some if they have heavy cases. The apartment is outside of the city walls and away from a main road but it is only a short walk to one of the main entrances - Monkbar. Importantly too there is also a small but very well stocked supermarket near by. All in all a great apartment in a quiet location but not far from the main amenities that York has to offer.

3 night city break in York

Property is very central to York. Could see the Minster from our balcony! Had to call a StaysYork agent to gain entry to the building as we didn't know there was another main door to gain entry. So dependant on the number of your apartment depends on which gate and door you enter by. Once we called them, they quickly called back and then this became apparent. This information would have been useful to know in the check in information before arriving! We had a lovely visit and were very lucky with the weather. Everything is on your doorstep so we didn't have to use our car at all, which was a bonus. Would recommend this as a base for anyone wanting to explore York, especially as it comes with a parking space!

Great Apartment for Families

We stayed here in April, and really liked the apartment. The place was clean, well laid out, easy to find and use everything- we stayed as a family of 7 (2A, 5K) and had good amount of room, dishes, and seating. We used the apartment as a base to explore York and the surrounding area, and it helped that it had a parking space available for a vehicle. It was a short 5-7 minute walk to the city wall, so we easily got everywhere we wanted on foot. There's groceries about 5-6 minute walk away. It's on the third floor, which was the only drawback, but not difficult to access at all, so it wasn't a big factor. Again, very clean. If we ever come back to York, we are immediately reserving this apartment again.
