Excellent hotel,great staff, who were very polite and extremely helpful,and the breakfast was excellent.Will be definitely staying in again in the near future.Would highly recommend Hotel de vin.

On arrival the receptionist were lovely. There was an issue with the system for check in but it was quickly resolved and the staff were so kind it wasn’t a problem at all. The man who showed us to our room went way too fast and I am fairly fit but could just about keep up with him. So it would be hard for a less fit or older person. Also the bar staff were quite rude. We got to the bar at 9:30 and I asked for an espresso martini the man at bar abruptly said the coffee machine has been turned off so I said can I have a piña colada and then he said I guess so looking quite put out. Then the next day a women at the bar was also rude when there had been a miscommunication about the drink she quickly became confrontational. Generally the visit was lovely as the room was lovely and the receptionist were great but the bar staff definitely let the hotel down a bit.

Perfect weekend.
Perfect weekend made even more special by the excellent team. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is really well located a short walk from the train station and all the sites of York. It is super comfortable, A cosy home from home. Rooms were really well appointed with super comfy bedding. Our stay was made even more special by the amazing team. From the check in, an afternoon cup of tea and breakfast. Super professional and friendly staff. Highly recommended - thank you.

Trip to York
The room was to warm even when the heating was turned off. The price you pay is a bit on the high side for it's location as it is about a 10 to15 minute walk to the city centre. The hotel parking could be free as this could help with future booking because of its location and a good gesture to anybody looking to booking this hotel. This hotel is good for some people but for some people who want to be in the city center who have difficulties in getting around there is other hotels with the same standards closer to the center of york. The bar prices are higher then some hotels i have stayed in. I have to say the room was nice, breakfast was ok the staff were helpful and polite, checking in and out was a breeze. The restaurant in the hotel was great but this can also be a bit on the expensive side for that experience for some people. Overall the trip was good but i would look at saying near the city centre when booking York again just a bit to far out for me and i am a fit and active person also with this location on a cold wet and windy night walking back to your hotel could be interesting. Plus i have only ever seen taxis at the train station and down by York minster when out and about in the city centre.

Great for YORK visits
Really nice hotel a very short walk to York city centre. Room was great. Lovely walking shower and rolled top bath.

Pleasant stay for new year
Good location and very pleasant staff. Rooms and hotel in need of a refresh. Evening bistro menu very good and excellent fish cooked well. Breakfast a little disappointing given others reviews with hard bacin and suasages, no mushrooms..limited cold choices. Bar area is small but fine and bar tender very good at cocktails.

Fantastic comfortable stay at the hotel du vin just like we remembered from our last visit about 3 years ago. Staff really attentive, friendly and helpful and the accommodation really clean, quiet and comfortable. Great location to the city.

We had a lovely stay. Unfortunately we didn’t realise the property was dog friendly and there was a boisterous noisy dog in the bar area. We are not comfortable around dogs. The staff explained that all Hotel du Vin hotels are dog friendly so sadly we won’t be booking with Hotel du Vin again.

Worst check in I’ve ever experienced.
Check in service was appalling, no welcome she was rude. Just managed to park in the car park as it was full, didn’t get told it was £15 to park at a hotel that was over £200pn, not what I’d expect and she just plonked the card machine in front of me with no explanation. The room had a massive cobweb hanging from the ceiling, lighting was too dark. Bathroom sink had a massive crack in it, but it was comfortable. Nowhere to relax in the bar as there was a wedding reception with loud guests getting merry, I wasn’t aware that there was going to be a wedding reception, nor that it would be in the main bar. Breakfast was good. Overall a waste of money and wouldn’t recommend staying there, nor wish to return.

I am very sorry to hear about your check in experience - please be assured I will be following this up with the receptionist that checked you in. Regarding our car parking, our spaces are subject to availability and we do charge 15 per night to park which we believe is a fair price for use of our secure private car park in a central location. However, if guests choose not to use our car park there is on-street parking surrounding the hotel. Our parking charges are highlighted on our website and third party booking sites, as well as displayed on the reception desk and explained on check in. The wedding reception was a private event in our courtyard, however, all of our guests are welcome to use the bar if they wish - I am sorry this made you feel that you couldn't relax. I do hope you give us the opportunity to welcome you back in the future and provide you with our usual Hotel Du Vin experience. Kind regards, Amy

Very nice York Hotel
Our first time at this hotel.Very nice room and bathroom. Decorations clean tastefull and in good condition - couldn't fault it. Breakfast very good too. Would definitely come back.Hotel well placed for a short walk to york city centre too.

Great stay
Room very nice and clean. Lovely shower. Comfortable bed. Breakfast very good. Friendly and helpful staff. Safe and convenient paid parking. Only negative was shower gel container empty ( immediately rectified) and shampoo container fell off wall. Highly recommend this hotel.

Pleasant stay
A friendly hotel and welcoming staff. A 15 minute walk into York centre. Parking was £15 which is an unnecessary fee. The staff were helpful and our room was very clean. A lovely bathroom.
