10/10 Excellent

This was easily our favourite place we stayed on our Japan trip - the hotel is a traditional Tatami mat style hotel where you sleep on mats and the flooring is reeds. It's in the centre of the Shibu village and all 9 of the public hot spring baths are within walking distance. There is a photo in their reception of the family that started the hotel and the great grandson of the founder and his mother still work there today.
