"This is a very special place. It's a little off the beaten path, which made for a very relaxing vacation. The whole area felt entirely safe. A car would be nice, but not necessary (we didn't have one). Tony, the hotel manager, is amazing! Whatever you want to do, wherever you want to go, he can help you make safe and affordable arrangements. We ate most of our dinners at the on-site beach bar/restaurant. Roberto was a great server and made top-notch cocktails -- I enjoyed everything I had there, especially the ceviche. We booked an ocean-front one-bedroom suite -- which was massive. The quiet, mini-split air conditioning unit was located in the bedroom but sufficient to cool the entire space -- even in upper-90s heat during August. Summer is high seaweed season, and I was worried about that, but it actually wasn't a big deal. Most days it was minimal -- this bay seems to be less prone to it than other areas. One day it was substantial, but once we walked through it, the water was still wonderful for swimming. It has a light sulfur smell when you are right next to it, but it dissipates quickly and you can't smell it after it dries or when you are relaxing on their wonderful white sand beach. Definitely go during turtle season. We saw hundreds of baby turtles making their way to the water every night and watched the mothers climb up to the beach to lay their eggs. It was just magical. Thanks for a great trip -- we hope to return soon!"

"Beautiful property in a gated community. The seaweed was pretty horrible but that is not the host’s fault. Hoping that something is figured out to help contain the seaweed for the future because it is a beautiful area. Beach was unusable. Perhaps a warning in the listing would help guests understand the situation. The listing stating white sand and crystal clear water could be misleading.It was a beautiful home but needs some updating. The sliding doors did not work well and were constantly breaking. Was hard to get in and out of pool area. Also, the stove was very difficult to use. Sometimes inoperable. Should probably get a new one. We had a chef come to the home one night and that issue affected the service.Putting those aside - the house was big and perfect for our party of 12. The house itself is very nice/clean and has lots of space. We made best of the seaweed situation and used the pool for several hours a day. The pool is fantastic! And cleaned everyday. The host and staff were wonderful and very communicative. There is a hotel within walking distance that has a small little beach club with great pizza that we spent lots of time visiting. Staff there is also amazing(they let us borrow board games to use at the house!). Would I visit again - yes. Would I research the sargassum before visiting? Yes. We had a great ten days in a beautiful country and made memories for a lifetime."

After the sun goes down you practically can’t go out of your room because of it. Also the bedding didn’t smell fresh, I don’t think it was washed. "We had a wonderful stay at this home! The house was beautiful, spotless, and well-maintained across all three floors. It was fully equipped with everything we needed—including coal for grilling—which made our stay even more enjoyable.Hector, our host, took a bit longer than expected to respond at times, but he was always helpful and attentive. He even arranged for extra towels and bed sheets to be delivered promptly when we needed them.The only small things missing were baking pans, and the listing mentioned “beach,” but the house is not actually on the beach, which was a bit misleading. Aside from that, the house truly had it all. We had such a great time that we ended up spending most of our time there. Overall, a fantastic stay and we’d definitely go back!"

We had a wonderful experience and would definitely recommend staying here."
