The dedicated chef will delight in this modern country cottage style kitchen with quality appliances on offer to help you prepare a hearty Northumbrian meal for the whole family to enjoy. Don’t fancy cooking? A short stroll will bring you to the local pub which serves a superb dining menu and a welcoming atmosphere to complement. Head upstairs where there are two well-presented bedrooms, comprising of a kingsize bedroom and a charming twin bedroom, each promising a delightful space to wake up to each morning. Refresh in the downstairs bathroom and take advantage of the large rainfall shower ahead of another exciting day.
Head outside to the side patio area with breath-taking uninterrupted views over the Kyloe Hills, a truly idyllic sun trap. Enjoy a BBQ or some al-fresco dining whilst watching the sunset – a view you will never forget! Head into Chatton; a gorgeous country village nestled in the pretty Northumbrian Valley, bordered by the Cheviots. The village has a great pub, recently renovated and it serves hearty Northumbrian dishes in a hunting-lodge inspired interior. Keen walkers are sure to be impressed by St Cuthberts Way, a 100-kilometre long-distance trail between the Scottish Borders town of Melrose and Lindisfarne off the coast of Northumberland, named after a 7th-century saint. The nearby town of Wooler is set along the last leg of the journey, so you needn’t traverse the full length. Wooler itself is just under 4 miles away and features a good range of shops, pubs, restuarants and facilities such as a post office and chemist.
The village store and Chatton art gallery compliment the quaint village atmosphere and the village green planted with pretty shrubs in the summer. If you fancy something exciting, why not visit Chillingham Castle less than 2 miles from Farmside Cottage and book onto one of their ghost tours! Why not try something a little different? Discover your inner country-self and try clay pigeon shooting at Fowberry Moor Farm in Wooler, where they also offer wine tasting too! A short 20 minute drive brings you to the popular village of Bamburgh! Bamburgh is a stunningly attractive small village set on the northern stretch of the Northumberland Coast. It is without doubt dominated by its magnificently striking castle that can be seen for miles around, giving the whole village a somewhat dramatic feeling.
Why not hit the waves yourself with a trip to the Farne Islands? Take a boat trip from Seahouses and see the Medieval Pele Tower and Victorian Lighthouse, as well as the famous seabird colony. Depending on the time of year, you might catch a glimpse of the friendly seals and puffins that visit the islands’ shores. Golfers flock to Bamburgh, where the Bamburgh Castle Golf Club offers a particularly picturesque round. It’s short but tough and boasts some of the best views in the country!

Great holiday cottage - comfortable accommodation that is modern, clean, and spacious.
Great holiday cottage - comfortable accommodation that is modern, clean, and spacious. We visited in winter and found the heating to be very good at keeping us warm.Good views over countryside and public footpaths close by - very dog friendly accommodation. Useful off-road parking for 2 cars. 5 stars given for local amenities takes into account this is the countryside and it’s great you can get to the closest town in 10 mins.Good value for money - I’m sure we’ll be visiting again!

We couldn't have asked for anywhere nicer.
We couldn't have asked for anywhere nicer. The owners are very dog friendly, they don't have any silly rules about dogs being on the furniture. Just as it should be.

What a lovely place, the accommodation was spotless when we arrived and thank you for the milk and biscuits. The cottage is in a great location for exploring Northumberland with the A1 just down the road. Unluckily for us Alnwick Castle was closed so this is the perfect excuse to come back. Would and will recommend to friends and family.

Beautifully decorated, well equipped and very clean cottage with everything you would need for staying in this beautiful part of Northumberland. Our host left provisions for tea/coffee and even some yummy shortbread biscuits. Everything is thought of, even blankets and towels for the doggies. We arrived late and our host had left a light on for us and even bought over extra bedding! The location is superb for local attractions and scenery for walks. The Percy Arms pub in the village is also worth a visit. We will definitely be booking again at this lovely cottage for a future stay.

We have stayed in both cottages and both are equally as good.
We have stayed in both cottages and both are equally as good. Farmside is clean and comfortable and ideally placed for exploring Northumberland and all it has to offer. Nikki the owner is great we especially love the nice coffee and biscuits on arrival after a long journey - top marks!
This beautiful cottage was beyond our expectations, the pictures on line were very impressive, but in real life the standard of decoration and attention to detail was fabulous. On arrival there was a nice welcome pack of essentials and accessories for the dogs in case we had forgotten anything.
The views across the open countryside from the patio and gardens were stunning and the location between Wooler and the coastal villages of Bamburgh and Seahouses was ideal.
Nikki and Jes were on hand and gave great advise about local places of interest. To sum up......... We will be back!!
A great cottage in a lovely area , view across the countryside is superb. Easy access to the main Northumberland sights. Cottage was spotless and very comfortable. Would recommend dinner at the Percy Arms in Chatton , need to take car though as road can have some fast and larger vehicles on it with blind bends and humps so we couldn’t risk walking with the dog. Not a major issue though. Good dog walks close by on the quieter side roads and bridle way. Stars at night were amazing. Great stay , would love to do it again 😀
