Return to the cosy heart of the home, our country kitchen glowing with firelight. Warm up by the Nectre wood heater, toast marshmallows at the fire pit, or slow-cook something delicious. Winter at Thagg Haus is all about crisp air, golden light, and simple pleasures.

Located in the historic coastal township of Wonthaggi, Thagg Haus is a charming two-bedroom cottage that captures the timeless beauty of its century-old heritage. Thoughtfully designed to blend vintage character with modern comforts, it creates a nostalgic, deeply welcoming atmosphere, especially on a crisp winter’s day.

As you pull into the driveway, tranquil gardens and a serene front porch welcome you in from the cold. Inside, high ceilings and warm timber pine flooring create a sense of stepping back into a slower, simpler time.
In the living room, you’ll find our collection of books, puzzles, and games — and no television. Winter here is for long reads by the fire, quiet afternoons, and genuinely switching off.

The heart of Thagg Haus is its kitchen and dining area, where a well-stocked pantry and the Nectre wood heater invite you to settle in, cook something unhurried, and fill the cottage with warmth.

Outside, the fire pit and wood-fired pizza oven come into their own in winter. Imagine crisp evening air, a crackling fire, and the stars overhead. The backyard is also a wonderful space for children to run and pets to roam freely.

Both bedrooms are dressed in luxurious European Flax linen, electric blankets, promising deep, restful nights after days spent exploring the wild beaches, scenic coastal walks, and rolling hills of Phillip Island and the Bass Coast.
