"We loved this property! Super close to JT National Park. About one mile from park entrance. And a few miles from town. The owners gave us restaurant suggestions, which we took! Delicious food at recommended places. The grounds were beautiful and the room was very well appointed. Everything was immaculately clean. A few lights/switches were not working but no big deal. We loved the outside daybed. Perfect for stargazing!! The place is located off a dirt road with a small sign so be aware if arriving at night. We enjoyed that the place is secluded and very quiet. It was a relief to disconnect from phones and TV (there are none in the room). Feel free to bring your own food and snacks. There's a small fridge in the room along with a Keurig coffee machine. Sugar and creamer provided. Overall, we loved this place, would def stay again, and would recommend to others. Thank you Sacred Sands!"

"We had the most magical time. The Ocatillo is a gem of a property. The house is wonderful, the grounds and surroundings are a beautiful way to get up close and personal with the desert. We thoroughly enjoyed the star gazing at night. Despite the hot day temps (July visit) the mornings and evenings were so perfect outside. We had good access to the Yucca Valley and Joshua Tree National park areas. We had several ant visitors but had amazing communication with our host and they did not dampen our stay at all."

"From the time I booked this VBRO, the host was in contact with me and answered every question in a timely manner. His property is backed up to Joshua Tree with majestic boulders surrounding the back of the property and the pool was very private. He gave us a tour and explained the history of the property and has a wealth a knowledge of the area. My wife and I went for a quiet, anniversary weekend and this place did not disappoint. Very much a desert vibe, quiet, with roadrunners, quail, jack rabbits, lizard's and at night we loved watching the sunset by the pool with a few bats fluttering about eating any flying bugs and getting a sip of water. I hiked the back of his property to hopefully see a big horn sheep but unfortunately, I didn't see any but there are prints and droppings. If you enjoy the desert and love the desert views, expect peace and quiet, multitude or stars at night, and I forgot to say, a very comfortable bed......book this place, you won't regret it! Thanks again, we will be back!"

"Upon arriving the exterior yard was not good. Garbage was overflowing in the trash bins outside. Weeds are growing in the driveway and the landscaping was not kept up. We found 2 dirty pans in the oven. The beds were on the hard side for us. The neighborhood is so-so. Overall it was ok but we probably won’t stay there again. The host was very good."
