"Property looked as if renervation has started but nowhere near finished. Door on upper floor bedroom couldn't be closed as the catch was missing just a space where it used to be. Door on upper floor bathroom wouldn't close - too tight a fit so couldn't be locked - no privacy. Difficulty shutting and locking rear french windows didn't feel very secure. TV remote didn't work. Tried changing the batteries but no success. When we reported were told others had made same comments but it still wasn't...
"Owner is so lovely and very helpful, almost like a personal tour guide for us with plenty of suggestions for things for us to see and do. Very friendly!! Breakfast was beautiful! Room was clean, walking distance to beaches shops and restaurants. I’d stay again if visiting ilfracombe again. "

"Nice apartment, ideal positioning, Illfracombe is very steep, but lovely walks to be had. Car parking is free after 6pm in the town also. We didn’t use the facilities but pool looked a decent size.
Cushions on the bed were very hard. Could maybe do with a couple of soft ones in the wardrobe as a just incase. Lovely place overall. "

"On arrival we were greeted by Alison one of the owners & she gave us an idea of our bearings this was fantastic and really began a wonderful relationship for the whole stay.
The room was small but extremely functional for us both and really comfortable and clean, only a couple of minor issues with maybe updating a few things but everything worked and we were extremely happy for the duration of our stay
The breakfast and facilities were excellent & we loved our mornings catching up with the owners, John the chef was superb and the food was exceptional
Loved the location the people and the food and slept extremely well for the duration of our stay
We would recommend highly this wonderful accommodation and the owners/ staff were a credit to the Hospitality community "

"The appartment is perfect inside and out. It is clean, spacious and very cozy. The patio and orchard garden are delightful to sit out in the sunshine, watching the sun set over the sea, listening to the gulls. A short walk to the high street, bustling harbour and coastal path. There is lots to do in and around Ilfracombe, we would have loved to stay longer. Our host was friendly and helpful and communication was efficient. I would recommended renting the garage, but there is plenty of space to stop and unload your car a few yards from the property. "
"Absolutely great place to stay if you're in Ilfracombe. Backs onto the very pretty harbour area, really good value breakfast and the pub is friendly, great beers but not noisy at all.
Our room got a little warm and the mgt instantly upgraded us to a two-room suite opposite and the general service and friendliness of the team who manage the Royal Britannia would be a major reason for going back as well as the beautiful spots immediately around the hotel.
