The best area to stay in Widworthy is the countryside surrounding the village itself, particularly properties that offer a secluded experience with convenient access to local attractions.

The Widworthy area is characterised by rolling hills, green fields, and a network of quiet country lanes. It's a rural setting, with properties often featuring extensive grounds, gardens, and views of the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The village of Widworthy itself is small, with a historic church at its heart, and properties are generally spread out, offering a sense of peace and quiet.

For couples seeking a relaxing escape, staying in a well-appointed country cottage or a luxurious barn conversion provides an ideal setting. These properties often come with amenities like private hot tubs or high-end fitness equipment, making them great for unwinding. You're well-placed to enjoy leisurely walks through the surrounding countryside or visit nearby market towns like Honiton for antique shopping and local produce.

Families will find that properties with ample outdoor space and multiple bedrooms are very suitable. Many accommodations offer large gardens for children to play in, and some might even have facilities like games rooms.

The best time to go to Widworthy is during the late spring and summer months, from May to September.

This period offers the most pleasant weather, with warmer temperatures and longer daylight hours, making it ideal for exploring the rolling Devon countryside and enjoying outdoor activities. You'll find the local gardens and natural landscapes at their most beautiful, with blooming flowers and lush greenery.

For couples looking for a romantic getaway, early summer (June) is particularly appealing. The days are long, allowing for leisurely walks through the picturesque villages and along coastal paths, often ending with a cosy evening meal in a traditional pub. You can enjoy the warmth without the peak crowds of August.

Families travelling with children might prefer the school holiday period in July and August.
