Lovely old millhouse hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms. All of the staff were super friendly, really good quality fresh ingredients for breakfast, all for a fabulous price!

Old hotel with friendly welcome

A lovely old hotel with friendly staff and a warm welcome. Breakfast had a good choice and came well presented and hot. The room was clean and offered free bottles of water and tea, coffee and biscuits. A very enjoyable stay

Lovely Mill

What a lovely mill, the rooms were great, the bed very comfy, breakfast was brilliant and the grounds were really pleasant and charming to walk around. The staff were friendly and helpful.

The room was spotless and a lot of thought in the details. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We were the only guests for dinner but didn't feel awkward as the staff including the chef were chatting with us. The place was full of character whilst giving attention to comfort. A lovely stay in an absolutely authentic hotel, surrounded by a beautiful landscape. We even participated in a mystery dinner - together with some local people - in the hotel‘s restaurant. If you need some advice on day trips or good places in the area, make sure you speak to the landlord.

We had a wonderful 2 night stay at the Hornsbury Mill. We had a friendly welcome and easy check in. Our room was comfortable and a good size and serviced upton request. We had dinner in the small and characterful restaurant and enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. Breakfast was plentiful and cooked to order. We found the Hornsbury Mill to be friendly and relaxed and enjoyed the surrounding areas. We would definitely stay again if we were in the area. Thank you

Room could do with a spring clean Also the The feature of the hotel is its grounds birds mess on patio patio and around pond and also in the wooden gazebo pots with dead plants in genuinely needs a good tidy up shame really
The idea is a good but you wouldn’t want to sit in here with your wedding dress on
Ducks very pretty but I guess they haven’t Cleaned or jet washed the patio for some time to get rid of the mess real shame there is a wedding on later today and you wouldn’t want your white dress in all that mess

Tranquil spot

Needed a hotel where I could leave a trailer. Extremely helpful when I phoned and equally helpful in sorting out afternoon tea even though their kitchen was shut. One of the best meals I have had at the restaurant especially when considering the price. Good breakfast choice. Grounds beautiful and resident peacock and peahen. Tranquil. Bed comfortable just needed to be a little careful of low ish beam in room.

Quirky

Quirky building due to its age and being a former water mill. In lovely grounds with peacocks wandering around. Had a lovely stay, however, the bedroom walls are thin so you can hear what the people in the rooms next door are doing. And if they switch on the watermill, you can hear and feel it running in the room. It was turned off in the evening. Staff were lovely and helpful. Restaurant portions were big.

The Hornsbury Mill is a very charming hotel, set in beautiful grounds with a little lake. The staff are very friendly and attentive and the bed comfortable. I had the full English (vegan) breakfast and it was very tasty. The one complaint I had was that when the very charming old mill wheel is on and turning (which they switch off at 8pm), the noise made a constant thud in my room and bothered me a little. I assume it won’t be too much of a bother though to most people, who would be in bed well after 8pm, but on this particular occasion I was exhausted and needed to go to bed very early and get a good night’s rest. The other noise that bothered me was that my room # 6 was at the back of the hotel where the dumpsters are and where the staff seemed to hang out for a little while after their shift, which again disrupted my sleep. However, I did speak to someone (I assume the owner?) who was very apologetic and said he would address this. Overall I was very happy with the hotel and would recommend it.

Very friendly and helpful staff

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The grounds were lovely and the hanging baskets amazing. Our rooms where spacious and very clean. All the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Liked that there were a few choices offered for breakfast. I would definitely book to stay here again.
