This gorgeous, eye-popping mountain home is called Twin Ponds Retreat - and is

the epitome of a retreat for an extraordinary vacation. The house can

accommodate one or up to twelve friends and family, including kids and pets

(upon request). No cats.



Fish right off the porch - no license required. Many indoor activities are

available if you experience a rain shower, including a pool table, skee ball

machine (not pictured), axe throwing, arcade game with 5000 games (older and

newer games), Connect Four, karaoke, board games, horse shoes, football and

foosball. Or a BBQ with homemade churned ice cream (churn provided) or corn

hole under the covered picnic area. And the famous fire pit in the center of

the property for s'mores, hot chocolate and apple cider, long conversations,

and meanderings. Be ready to hear the bullfrogs sing and discuss their day's

adventures while you take the canoe out to listen. Many amenities. ** ** small

The perfect week

Our family had a wonderful time at this amazing property. The entire property was decorated beautifully and had everything we could possibly need. Our sons loved every single thing about this place, so much so that my youngest is begging to come back for his birthday trip. And, it was perfect and comfy for our little fur baby. We've already booked our next trip and are counting the days. Thanks for everything.

Excellent Accommodations

This exceeded our expectations for our stay. Not only was it clean, comfortable, and enough room for 12 to earn 5 stars, the property owner went above and beyond. The Christmas decor was incredible, the kitchen had more than you would expect for a rental, and the house was stocked with everything. I wouldn’t hesitant to stay here again. In fact, I’d go out of my way to stay here again.

Twin Ponds Retreat in Wittier, NC was a perfect getaway with our family. The home was well appointed, exceptionally clean and very welcoming. The owners thought of everything to make you feel right at home! Kid friendly , dog friendly and the adults enjoyed the peaceful surroundings! We all agreed , best home rental we ever had. Bravo!

Birthday trip

Words just can't describe how much I loved this stay. It's amazing, clean, welcoming, and has everything you can possibly think of. Debbie and her husband have thought of everything and you can tell the thought and care that went into this home. From all the details such as a fan in every closet, abundance of towels, amazing beds, and them even having a birthday card for my husband! This home is less than 20 minutes away from the casino and is close to everything while being far enough away to feel alone and have privacy. This is by far my family and I's favorite home we have ever stayed in and we can't wait to be back!

Awsome !!!

we had a birthday get together .We had 12 people that stayed there. Having enough room was no trouble .The place was so beautiful well set up. The decor was amazing . A pond right at the front door .close to Cherokee, and places to eat. Our family would very much recommend this gorgeous Rental .i don't think anyone could be disappointed .enjoyed by the Wilson Family.

Best stay ever!

We came together from various states to be together for the Christmas holiday. I was immediately impressed with this home, from the thoughtful gifts left for us, to how fully stocked the home is. The decorations were beautiful and your hospitality was beyond words! The kids enjoyed the grinch decorations, the games in the bunk room, jacuzzi, axe throwing, swing, fishing, and the canoe. We never heard a peep of them being bored! The beds were very comfortable and no details were missed! Your home was truly magical and we thank you for sharing it with us. We hope to return very soon!

Bach trip

Went for a bachelor weekend. And the property was amazing plenty of activities to keep busy during bad weather. Plus everything you could think of was included. Deb was an amazing host. Couple that with amazing wifi and water pressure which are usually the things you sacrifice with a mountain house. Pretty close to things without being right on top of them making it a quiet and peaceful stay.

Perfect getaway for golf and casino!

Spent a long weekend at Twin Ponds Retreat and it was perfect! Very quiet and exceptionally clean. We spent time fishing the pond where we caught 15-20 bass, played two great golf courses (Sequoia National was beautiful), and going to Harrah’s. The location is perfect and not too far from all of the surrounding activities. The host was also very welcoming and answered any and all questions I had in an extremely timely manner. I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a convenient home base to all that Cherokee and the surrounding areas have to offer!

Wow! We almost never leave reviews and if we do, they are usually not positive. But I am just so impressed with this property and Debbie/Dean that I had to post this review. You will not be disappointed. They have thought of everything down to details that other VRBO owners never even think of such as bars of soap, backup security codes, and other details that are noticed, appreciated, and impressive. You guys could give seminars on how to do a vacation property. Thanks so much for your care and heart in providing us your home for vacation rental to us. If we ever come back to Smokey Mountains, you will be my first call!

Annual Tuckaseegee Rafting Trip

If you’re looking for a place to stay near Whittier, NC and like myself, you have only one important requirement for where you lay your head at night - that’s right, I’m talking about Egyptian cotton luxury bath robes - then look no further. Many people refer to the Twin Ponds Retreat as the “Ritz-Carlton of the Smoky Mountains.” And considering the closest Ritz is 150 miles away in Atlanta, you’d be looking at one heck of a commute to explore all of the exciting adventures that the mountains have to offer. Oh and good luck trying to fit you, your 10 closest friends, and your weird uncle Andy, all into one reservation at the Ritz. Twin Ponds was incredibly clean, offered all of the kitchen amenities needed to satisfy Gordon Ramsay, and had plenty of games and activities to escape to for when Gordon blows his lid. Also, the amount of extra pillows, bed sheets, and towels provided could have probably stocked the Superdome after Hurricane Katrina blew through the South in 2005. And did I mention the bath robes!? Honestly, the best stay we’ve had in the area, after years of coming to Whittier to raft the Tuckaseegee - and we were only 5 minutes from the river!

AMAZING customer service

The customer service at this location is PHENOMENAL! From the moment I booked, I felt truly welcomed. They were able to accommodate a special request that I had and they got back to me within 24 hours even over Christmas holidays. We chose this house because my mom was worried about staying in the winter up a mountain...this was low enough on the mountain that wasn't a worry and still had beautiful views. When I arrived there was a welcome note and basket. My mother just kept saying she loved the thoughtful touches throughout the home. We started saying that my mom was becoming besties with Deb. Everything that we needed was right there. There are fishing poles for the pond, a hot tub with tv, an ax throwing game, a stocked game room with an arcade machine, pool table and skee ball. The kids kept saying, "Will we come back here?" When we checked out, my daughter was upset because she left a stuffy there. Before I could mention it to the host, she texted me to ask if it was ours, and SENT IT BACK to our house (free of charge) the very next day. I just cannot believe the level of hosting that occurred here. It just went over and beyond what you would ever imagine at a VRBO. Thank you Deb for inviting us so warmly into your home.
