Welcome to Rovers Retreat - Very Private 4 Acre Fenced Pet Friendly Property

Big view cabin and yurt!! Spectacular, panoramic mountain view residence, situated at an elevation of 4000 FEET. On a private 4 acre lot, with fur-friendly 1 BR/1.5 Bath loft cabin (750 SF) & detached 1 BR/.5 bath guest yurt.
Only 10 minutes from Cashiers, Lake Glenville & Panthertown Valley. 20 minutes to Highlands. 1 hour from Asheville and The Biltmore.
Sleeps 2 to 6 people very comfortably. Great for single person, couple (s) and kids. Large front porch with outdoor dining/seating, along with a picnic table on the lawn. HUGE 1-acre fenced yard for large & small dogs! They will enjoy their best vacation EVER! Outside has a charcoal grill and wood burning fire pit.

1 BR loft cabin with 1.5 bath, open floor plan on main level with LR, full kitchen & full bath. 2nd floor master bedroom loft with 1/2 bath and king bed. Sleeping for 2 downstairs on chaise lounger.
DirecTV satellite TV, Wi-Fi, Amazon, and Netflix. Wood burning stove, gas heat, electric heat & A/C units. Kitchen with fridge, stove, oven, microwave, small appliances, dishware, glasses, cookware & all basic utensils. W&D, full modern bath w/large walk-in shower.

Guest yurt (350 SF of a trendy, modern, insulated, circular wood-framed structure with canvas and lattice walls/ceilings; on a wood foundation) is only 100 feet away from main cabin.
The yurt has full kitchenette with fridge, stove, sink, & small appliances. Ductless HVAC system, queen bed, reclining love seat, and single cot, chair/ottoman, TV w/ built-in DVD Player/DirecTV & Wi-Fi. 1/2 bath, wood floor, surrounding windows and operable skylight. Front deck with fantastic mountain views. Note: Bathroom in winter will be winterized (water off) if temps below 32 degrees outside in the yurt.

The best amenity of this property is the 4 acre, private, 4000 foot elevation with level lawn areas (bocce ball court & corn-hole) and fenced in yard!
Just relax and enjoy the great panoramic views of Sapphire Valley and the amazing granite rock faces of the mountains. Located only 5 minutes from Panthertown Valley, aka "the Yosemite of the East." (6700 acre paradise for mountain biking, backpacking, trout fishing, clear swimming holes with beaches & hiking).
More than 20 of the finest waterfalls are within a 30 minute drive. Lake Glenville (highest elevation lake east of Mississippi) has pontoon and kayaks rentals in warm weather. Whiteside Mountain has an excellent, cliff-top view, hiking loop with 700' high cliff walls. Whitewater Falls is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies that plunges a staggering 411 feet, and Gorges State Park, aka "Gorgeous" due to its unique waterfalls, rugged river gorges, sheer rock cliffs, and awesome plant life, are both within 20 minutes of the property.

When you rent our place, with a rare, gem of a view, you get the entire property to yourselves! Sit on the adirondack chairs and enjoy a cocktail with a million dollar view, or roast some smores and enjoy the best stargazing ever!

Kim was great to work with and we loved staying at her property. The yard and view are amazing! Our two dogs enjoyed the yard and it was safe for them to explore. My daughter loved the swing! Great location to explore the NC mountains and go for a hike. We look forward to coming back!

Rover's Retreat Getaway

Peaceful retreat with amazing views

We adored our stay at Rover's Retreat and would recommend this place to anyone with dogs looking for a relaxing stay in the mountains. We loved it and would love to come back again one day!

Our retreat was Awesome! The most restful vacation I’ve ever taken. Our 2 pups enjoyed their freedom on the property and chasing resident wildlife. Squirrels mostly (white ones too) ! Wonderful, comfortable , well equipped cabin with Beautiful long range, mountain ridge to valley views looking toward E/SE. The owner was very friendly, courteous , informative, communicative and responsive. No issue with booking or our stay . Plenty of outdoor activities nearby for those seeking mountain adventure, nature, culture, history, relaxation, etc. “Rovers Retreat” it’s a wonderful place to hang your leash…..

We enjoyed our stay in this cabin. The view is beautiful! Had a couple of minor issues but the owner was very responsive to help get it corrected. So many great hikes in the area and the cabin was dog friendly!

We had wonderful and relaxing time at Rover’s Retreat Oct 5-9. We loved how cozy the cabin was and our girls (11 and 14) enjoyed staying in the yurt! The location was great and the views were beautiful! Our dog,Piper, loved being able to roam freely around the fenced in property and check everything out! Kim, the owner was very responsive and communication was excellent! Some of our favorite adventures were Whiteside Mountain, Dry Falls, Cullasaja Falls, Whitewater Falls, High Falls which we hiked from the lower entrance, and Silver Run Falls! We enjoyed the pizza from Slab Town and loved the food and vibe at Happ’s place in Glenville. Our favorite coffee stop was at Outpost Inn in Highlands. We played some family corn hole that was available at the cabin, and the girls loved the swing! We look forward to coming back and exploring and relaxing more!

Love Rover's Retreat!!!

This is such a peaceful place to visit with dogs. The view is amazing, the house and yurt are small but perfectly laid out and equipped. Our dogs LOVED the yard. We loved the location and easy access to hiking, restaurants, a couple of cute towns, and mountain lakes. We absolutely plan to return next summer!

Great Getaway

We had such a great time staying at the Rovers Retreat! It's exactly what anyone can want in a place to stay in the mountains. The views from the front yard are amazing and a great backdrop to do some reading or enjoy a spot by the fire. Kim and Brad are great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend!

Cosy Cabin

Our stay was amazing! Cabin was so clean and homey with everything you would need. The view was spectacular and the wonderful fire just made each nite magical. The yard is completely fenced so no fur baby worries. We will return.

Heaven on Mountain Top

Our stay was 10/10. The cabin is adorable and very comfortable. The view is magnificent. Such a pleasure to sit outside by the fire pit and watch the moon rise over the mountains. A huge plus for us was the entire property being fenced. This allowed our hounds to run and sniff freely. We have already booked another stay.

Million Dollar View

Cool and dry air at 4,000 ft was a respite from where we live. Quiet and peaceful, we enjoyed looking at the views every day. One suggestion, would be to change the lock on basement door.

Peaceful retreat!

Peaceful and secluded, just what my husband & I wanted for our anniversary getaway! We felt right at home as soon as we arrived. Everything was perfect, even down to the book selection! Our German Shepherd loved the fenced in yard. Can’t say enough good things about our stay at Rovers Retreat! It was one of our most favorite vacations, can’t wait to return!

Wonderful, private stay in the mountains!

I cannot recommend Rovers Retreat enough!! The cabin was perfect, very cute, with very comfortable amenities and everything that we needed for our stay. The property is absolutely beautiful with an incredible view right out the front door. We loved sitting at the picnic table, in the Adirondack chairs, and around the fire pit. My kids loved the hammock and swing, too. There are so many great places to hike and explore nearby - definitely recommend Rainbow Falls. The owner was just wonderful, very communicative, kind, and helpful! Our dogs had the best time ever and we're so happy to come along! The fenced in property gave them plenty of room to roam. You won't regret staying here!

The perfect weekend getaway!

This is the second year in a row that my husband and I plus our two dogs have stayed at Rovers Retreat and we loved it just as much the second time around. Cozy cabin furnished with all the necessities and a spacious fenced in yard for our dogs to run and play. Beautiful view of the mountains out back while sitting by the firepit. Feels secluded but is only minutes from town. Kim is great and very responsive, I would highly recommend!

Perfect Retreat

This was the perfect retreat for us and for our dogs after the hurricane in Asheville. Kim knew we did not have water and were looking for a break for a couple of days to take showers and to do laundry. She was incredibly responsive and thoughtful. The property was amazing, allowing us a break while allowing our dogs to roam. Just what we needed and they absolutely loved it. We could not have chosen a better location.

Best Getaway

My husband and I were excited to spend the weekend close to Cashiers for our first getaway since having a baby. We took our two big dogs with us and Rovers Retreat could not have been more perfect! The cabin is clean, spacious, and cozy. The yard was amazing for our dogs and even though it was freezing, we loved hanging out by the fire. Also, the location is so central to fun spots like downtown Cashiers and hiking in Panthertown. We will 100% be back!!!
