"Excellent, excellent and excellent is what I would like to say about our stay at this wonderful hotel. I have been to Charlestown before but never stayed. We have a medium sized dog (Sid) that we take everywhere with us, we know that most hotels nowadays are dog friendly but here was (in my opinion) above and beyond. There was a lovely doggy bag in our room with two ceramic bowls a rubber mat, dog treats and a tennis ball which Sid loved. All of the staff were first class and couldn’t be more helpful. The room was great with a comfortable mattress and pillows. We ate dinner and breakfast in the hotel and I thought that the food was very good, we had the sirloin steak which was cooked just right and I thought priced well. The breakfast selection was very good and well cooked and presented. Would I stay there again,ABSOLUTELY."

"The Waterwheel Inn was exceptional. We had a garden suite which opened straight out onto the amazing gardens and a small double room. Both were decorated nicely and kept clean. Breakfast was served in the lovely conservatory and was excellent with good choices and nice touches like home-made jams and granola. We ate in the restaurant for dinner several times and had great food every time. Staff were helpful whilst being unobtrusive. Our only suggestion is to advertise the vegan options better as they catered really well for vegans but it was on request rather than being clear on menus."

"Lovely 2 night stay. Ian the host was brilliant from start to finish. Lovely room. Comfy bed. Great shower. Brekkie was delicious. We tried both full english and the omelette. Good quality ingredients. Lovely beautiful garden. We couldn't fault a thing. Ian very informative of local surroundings. 2 adorable well behaved dogs. 5 stars"

"Nice place to stay, nicely presented property. Amenities could have been better. No Wi-Fi and can not get any signal. Would recommend to get Wi-Fi installed. Bed could be a bit bigger and comfier. But other than that you have everything you could possibly need. Kitchen fully equipped, bathroom very large with toiletries provided. Owners were amazing and very welcoming. Welcome hamper was a very nice touch and also allowed us an earlier check in as well as later check out. Thank you so much for that. Would definitely recommend and would book again"
