"A lovely night away with a fantastic breakfast. Quirky staying in an old jail but enjoyed the atmosphere and history. Breakfast was amazing. Freshly cooked and ample selection in the continental area. A great place to stay."

"The carpets leading to the room upstairs had seen better days and the room although clean had seen better days. Very tired and dated decor. The motorway services attached were very modern and useful. Nice 11.00 checkout but House keeping were quite aggressive to get in before it was time to leave and they seemed to have forgotten there were three people staying (my son), only two mugs/spoons and no glasses in the bathroom. Horrible nescafe coffee sachets, nothing particularly special in the room. If you don’t book directly you have to pay £5 per night parking. Quite basic but you get what you pay for."

"Staff excellent, we’ve only given a 3 star because the beds were so bad!! We only ate there once during our stay as it was very average and the choice poor. Luckily we only used it as a base. Also it should be called a Spa as it isn’t one"
