"The Wensleydale Hotel in Middleham is an ideal base Hotel, to see Middleham, Leyburn and Masham!! Definitely see Hawes and Wensleydale cheeses, plus Masham and BlackSheep Brewery!! Plus Theakstons in Masham! The Hotel is very nicely set out, with a great breakfast! Dinner in the restaurant is a little bit on the over priced side, wine way too expensive and a little too pretentious! Lighting and table layouts in bar and restaurant need looking at! Overall a nice Hotel in a beautiful part of North Yorkshire, room rates need revising as on the expensive side per night for what you get!"

"Our 2 nights stay at the Black Swan was mostly good. Evening meal was very good on the first night. The bar was busy and had a nice atmosphere plus friendly locals. The room was comfortable, bathroom okay apart from the door which has noisy latch which can wake you up if you are a light sleeper. Some noise from machinery which kept cutting in and heard in the bedroom. Breakfast was okay but a little sparse for a cooked breakfast."

"It was a lovely little hotel in a cute village, the staff were super friendly and the breakfast was good with lots of choice. The room was nice & the bed was comfy with tea/coffee, iron, hairdryer etc. However the room is definitely in need of a major refresh in decorating. The hot tap barely came out, the shower head holder was so loose it came off the wall, there was some mouldy patches in the shower and one of the towels had what looked like blood stains. Other than those odd issues, the rest of the stay was lovely and we would stay there again!"
