"My main search criteria is a pet friendly hotel with EV chargers. There's only 1 EV charger and it is extremely slow and expensive. It estimated 14 hours for 80% charge at .59/kWh. For perspective, I normally use a Tesla Supercharger (for my Kia EV9) at .40/kWh and 20 min. for a 80% charge. Many hotels offer free charging at that slow rate, since many travelers only choose them at all for the charger option. I unplugged after about 10 minutes and just parked. Not paying that ridiculous fee to not even be charged. The pet fee wasn't bad at $20 and the room didn't feel like a neglected pets only room, like some do. Overall, the hotel is well worn and in need of updates, like paint chipping on window sills, outdated decor, etc. Could have been a bit cleaner, mold growing around the tub faucet in the bathroom and some kind of kids beads were on the floor. The "tip envelope" had something smeared on it and was crinkled from re-use. I'm not leaving a tip for the cleaners in a visibly dirty envelope. Be serious. The bed was moderately comfortable though and the bedding was definitely clean, so we stayed for that reason alone. It was late, we were tired."

"We could hear water running somewhere in the bathroom in the first room we were given. It wasn't the toilet and you could hear it even with the bathroom door closed. Second room: staff member put us next door - same thing. Third room: asked him to put us on the 2nd floor away from the other rooms. Opened the door and heard the smoke alarm chirp (low battery). We were going to just remove the battery, then saw a live bug just above it on the wall. Decided to check for more and found a dead one on the sill. That was it! Packed up our things and told him we were leaving. We had many choices for accommodations in this area but chose Hampton Inn because it has always been safe and clean. Not a safe choice for us anymore. This place should be shut down. It looks like it hasn't been updated in 30 years - carpet, fridge, furniture, microwave - all 3 rooms. I also saw somewhere that breakfast was included. When the staff member handed us our first room keys, he said, "Room 117. No breakfast." Terrible experience. All of this made us late to meet friends whom we hadn't seen in 6 years that we would have limited time with. So disappointing. Went 1 mile down the road and stayed at a very nice place called Hillside Motel. "
