Hampton Inn Linden

"My number one complaint is the toilet in the room WAS NOT properly cleaned. Someone went number 2 and did not remember to clean the toilet seat which was upsetting to me. I had to use my anti-bacterial wipes to wipe down the whole room to be on the safe side. The room was very spacious because it was a suite, but only had a sofa chair, not a couch which I didn’t like. Storage for baggage and personal items was very good. Tv was huge and my Apple TV worked which made me happy. Very comfy bed. Pool looked nice but did not use. Gym was very good. Location is awesome, right across from an AMC, ShopRite, many places to shop and dine. A bit of a drive from the shore, but doable. Large parking area which I liked and I liked how each parking area had an entrance to the hotel. Felt safe. Best part was breakfast, warm with omelettes, sausage, potatoes (which were very yummy to me), waffle makers with toppings for waffles. Staff was friendly. Just felt like it could be cleaner, there was splatter on wall under the bed. Didn’t like the shower head. I would recommend but I would also try a different hotel if in the area to see if it feels cleaner than this one. Also breakfast area needed to be better maintained as there were many people making a mess and everyone was on top of each other, no space in the food area but decent seating selection. The booths along the wall were a nice touch."

"I recently stayed at the Homewood Suites by Hilton in Cranford/Newark, New Jersey, and overall, I found the hotel to be beautiful. The room was spacious, comfortable, and nicely maintained, and I really appreciated the overall appearance and atmosphere of the property. Unfortunately, during my stay, I did encounter roaches in the room, which was disappointing and did take away from an otherwise pleasant experience. I would kindly suggest that the hotel consider having a professional pest control company conduct a thorough inspection and treatment of the property to ensure this issue is addressed. I hope the hotel takes this feedback in the constructive spirit in which it is intended, as the property itself is lovely and has a lot to offer. With some attention to this concern, I would feel much more comfortable recommending it to others."

"I read reviews, so had low expectations. Given that, this place was fine for my needs. Room was clean, no bugs. Decent guy running the place. Would have appreciated a towel, but was 3 am by time I realized there was none, so didn't ask. TV remote same; couldn't find a switch on the box. Though room was clean enough, cleaner smell was heavy; window didn't open, so I had to open door for a good while to circulate air. Road noise is a lot as folks said, but that doesn't bother me. Address, Maple but actual entrance facing US1, plus changing names of motel, can be confusing for rideshare drivers, so be ready to clarify location; my first got close then canceled. There are motels closer to EWR, but this one was cheaper; however, for future reference, it might be possible to walk from EWR to Motel 6. Bus here to Rest Inn was tricky, but just $3 +transfer or mile walk, and Uber from EWR wanted $70."

"I feel the property was a decent deal. I wasn’t comfortable leaving my car parked on the street, so I opted to pay for a garage around the corner. Not a heck of a lot better, but made me feel better in the end. The place was clean and there was plenty of room. When we arrived at 10:00 pm it was 85 degrees because the window unit ACs were not on. It took a while to get comfortable. Be prepared as a traveler, there are not a lot of utensils and kitchen supplies. No toaster, paper towels, and little things like a wine cork screw. The kitchen cupboards are pretty bare. It worked fine for our trip and we did have fun."
