"Definitely a great place to stay if you are visiting Kawagoe with its historic 'Edo Town', as the nearest station (Matoba) is just two stops away. The very kind owner/host offers a comfortable place to stay with excellent hospitality and flexibility for not just solo travellers but couples and even small groups. The location is just a short walk from the station with plenty of shops nearby to meet your short-term shopping needs. The spacious room with the basic furnishings proved to be a great...

"The modern hotel itself is a great facility set in a modern library setting with a variety of interesting books free to peruse. The two outstanding problems with this hotel are (1) access by public transportation is very limited, forcing the guests to hire a taxi to convenient nearby train stations such as Tokorozawa station costing 2,400-2,600 yen each way, and (2) the breakfast purchased optionally is practically the same throughout your stay—three different kinds of sandwiches. There are no...

"Very limited walking accesses to eating spots, even no varieties. In the room, well cleaned, quiet, nice bed,
but very disappointed at the much expecting relaxing time
in the public bath. It was not warm enough. "

"We chose this hotel for the location. It is definitely in the middle of everything in shinjuku. We chose to book thru expedia for safety of mind in case we needed to cancel.
The lobby is on the 8th floor, so there will always be 2 elevators to enter or exit.
The elevators for the rest of the hotel are split and you don't really have to wait long.
Check in, check out, instructions and help to find a company to fix my glasses, laundry - all were dealt with very professionally and friendly.
the room was pretty spacious, separate toilet room, show room and the sink is outside.
We faced the Tokyu Kabukicho tower, and the quad below, where events were held often and we could hear some of it, and they quieted down by 10pm. There is a starbucks in that tower. The screen on that building also shuts off by 10.
Within the hotel tower there are many shows, including a very nice sushi joint.
It is extremely walkable to shinjuku station and lots of other parts of town.

"We ended up staying at the Rihga at the beginning and end of our recent trip to Tokyo because we loved the hotel so much! We traveled with our 8yr old son and the additional room was awesome plus the view of the garden is stunning! The staff is super friendly and accomodating, the shuttle is an incredible feature the hotel offers which was one of the reasons we booked it in the first place, it takes you to the main train station in the area, (approx a 10min bus ride) to Takadanobaba Station and at the drop off there are tons of restaurants and shopping options.
The only complaint we had was that Expedia advertises this hotel as having a pool, however what it doesnt mention is that 1. Its 3300 yen per person/per entry roughly $30CAD 2. its part of their health club so no children under 12yrs old can go in and 3. nobody with visible tattoos can go in. This was REALLY dissapointing and i do believe expedia should include a disclosure with this pool feature as it was another big reason we chose this hotel as i know most families with children do love having a pool."
"The hotel was nice and clean and there were restaurants around the area. The staff were friendly and accommodating. It would have been perfect if there was a fitness center."
"I stayed 5 total days, the room is small...but it works if your trip is short and you don't have a large suitcase. It's located about 15 minutes from Shinjuku Main Station, and 5-minute walk from Higashi-Shinjuku Station. Lots of food options, and close to the heart of Shinjuku. Great for a solo traveler/couple. "Everything was perfect, it seems like this hotel thinks about any small details that are important for tourists. I even saw a weight scale in the lobby for the luggages. I would reserve again with Sotetsu."
