"We loved our stay at Vanstella Cottage. Angie is a great host and the attention to details she put into the house really shows. Outside, we really enjoyed the large deck and the ping pong table. Inside, we enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen, the super comfortable beds, the large selection of books and games, and the sound system. The cottage had the feel of being in the mountains while being very close to downtown Kernersville and Winston-Salem. Highly recommended!"

"We stayed for a golf trip and had a great time in the house. Owners are very welcoming and great with communication. The hot tub and massage chair were great amenities following our golf rounds. "

"Proximity to restaurants and shopping is good. Nice, quiet neighborhood. More lighting is needed along the brick walkway. It's very dark at night. Turning on the heat prior to guests arrival in winter would be nice. It took a while to get the cottage heated."

"We ended up not staying because after i booked they listed all the fees. You have to check in by 8 pm but is listed as 2:30am and there is a $20 per person per day fee to use the pool. And you have to give a 48 hr notice to even use the pool and i booked last minute so that would have been a waste too. To use the hot tub its $100 extra but that is the only thing listed before you book. It would not have been worth the 3.5 hr drive we were going to make. "

"The house is not at all what it looks like in the pictures. The outdoor area in the backyard had moldy stain seat cushions, so we could not enjoy the outdoor space. Upon our return home one day during our stay, a landscaper was burning leaves in the backyard, which you could see From far away as we were pulling into the neighborhood. There were not enough utensils or utilities in the kitchen. There was no pair of scissors. There was no closet in the master bedroom. The bedroom doors locked, and we had to continually contact the hose for the individual codes for the individual bedrooms. The front step railing was loose and caused one of our elderly residence to lose their balance as they were walking into the house. The garbage cans were filled and smelled really badly so when we tried to throw away our garbage we were challenged and doing so. As we were trying to do laundry, the dryer didn’t work. It shut off after 10 minutes of use and never really dried our clothes so we had to travel on a plane with a bag of wet laundry - the closets and cabinets were cluttered and not cleaned out. We did not feel comfortable, putting our belongings inside of them. There is Styrofoam “wallpaper“ in the bathrooms that is peeling off and has areas of mold behind it. The bathroom fans are noisy and did not work. All of this caused us to leave the property one night early and spend additional money on a hotel room. VRBO should take this property off of their listing website."
