Perfect spot!

Had a great stay. The condo was absolutely perfect and the resort pool with the club house was an added bonus! We traveled with two other families that had ocean side condos and everyone agreed that this one was the best!

Fantastic condo rental

This was my second time staying at this condo, and both stays have been fantastic. This unit is very well appointed and includes everything you may want or need. The lanai is tastefully decorated, the outside fan is wonderful to help stay cool, and the views are mesmerizing. Shaded parking is the icing on the cake. Highly recommend.

Oceanfront Paradise

Truly outstanding in every respect - the view, the privacy, the gourmet kitchen, the pool & bar, the gym, the beaches... Doug & Vicki's condo is absolutely lovely, with comfortable beds and linens, excellent shower, high-end appliances, reserved parking spot, and a perfect lanai looking out at the ocean.

Awesome Visit To Hali'i Kai

This was our second visit to Hali'i Kai, and our first stay in this particular unit. Doug/Vicki were great hosts, and were very communicative during the whole process. Unit was better than advertised, and the views were incredible. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and hope to return in the future.

Incredible stay!

We stayed here with our family of 4 over Christmas and had the most relaxing time! The condo is spacious, modern and has everything you need to enjoy the island - binoculars, snorkels, towels, pickleball equipment, golf gear, sunscreen and bug spray! The view from the lanai was perfect, sunsets were beautiful and the whale watching was on point! The gated community was clean and quiet with everything you need within walking distance. We absolutely loved our stay and would recommend it 100% to anyone. The hosts were quick to respond and gracious with our requests.

Vacation

We have been to the Big Island several times, never stayed at Hali'i Kai but finally gave it a try. Definitely very impressed. This unit is amazing! Extremely clean, can't even explain how clean it is, couldn't even find a spec of dust anywhere. Also the unit is very well equipped, it lacks nothing anyone would need. And of course the ocean front was perfect. Should also mention it is extremely quiet, couldn't hear any neighbors. The resort is lacking nothing, the Ocean Club is a huge plus. Excellent visit and we would not hesitate to book again.

Amazing view, chic apartment, great pool

The pictures don't do this place justice! The view is awesome, and my kids loved running around in the lovely lawn out back. The apartment is impeccably clean and comfortable with newer remodeling. It was so nice to have 2 full baths, ample closet space, and empty dressers to fill. My kids loved playing in the beautiful pool. The sunset and star-watching was excellent too. The ample beach equipment provided was a nice bonus.

Paradise Vacation in Waikoloa

very enjoyable stay, clean 2 BR, very comfortable unit. No BBQ at unit. Have stayed in other units here at Halii Kai and appreciate having the BBQ. Only criticism of unit is that flat screen TVs are older and smaller and could not use many of the apps we use on a regular basis. Had minor issue and owners responded very quickly.

Great unit in a great complex

We have stayed at several units in this complex and this is one of the best! The oceanfront location is stellar. Everything in the unit is clean, in good condition, and well organized. The beds are comfortable and the pillows were great for us, with a variety of thicknesses. The pantry has some staples and there was plenty of laundry detergent and dish soap. The lanai does not have a bbq but there is one at the nearby pool club if you want to grill. The kitchen has high end appliances and is a great place to cook. I would stay in this unit again in a heartbeat!

Terrific unit. We rented two units in front building. This was best if two. Clean, well furnished, all the supplies you neeed. First floor unit may be attractive to those looking to avoid stairs. Door to lanai is terrific. New ceiling fans. Great hosts.

Great location and great property

This location was perfect with a fantastic, unobstructed view of the ocean and lava rocks. Drinking coffee in the lanai with that view was amazing. The pool and gym were so close and we went over nearly every day. We also used the tennis court often, which is only a 5 minute walk away. The home was already stocked with oil, salt, pepper, etc…which is so helpful after a long flight into Hawaii. The two bedrooms are separated so noise was never an issue. Everything was clean, well furnished, and in great condition. We loved our stay at this home, and communication with the owners was fast. Thanks for a great stay and we would easily stay here for our next Big Island vacation.

Big Island Bliss!

This was a fantastic place to stay. As soon as we came through the gates we saw a beautiful resort setting. The landscaping was beautiful. The condo unit was awesome! So many upgraded features- the appliances, furniture, decor. Being a first floor unit was very nice. We loved sitting on the lanai enjoying the view of the lava rocks and ocean. Loved seeing the waves crash up. Our kids enjoyed playing out on the grass as well. The pool and workout facility was also fantastic. Highly recommend staying here!

Amazing stay in Waikoloa

This is such a beautiful property. I stayed eight nights with my wife and son and loved every minute. We watched several sunsets from our lanai, which is right on the ocean. The unit's building is literally a few dozen steps from the Ocean Club next door, which is great for families with little kids, as well as for grabbing an adult beverage and laying in the sun. The condo itself was just as advertised - spacious, clean, and well-appointed. It's a great jumping off point for day trips, such as driving to Volcanoes National Park. Doug and Vicki are excellent hosts. They responded very quickly when we had a minor issue with the AC. I highly recommend staying here.

Great condo

Great condo and location so nice watching the sunset every night from the Lani. The condo is beautiful with everything you would need with high end amenities. The hosts were also great to deal with….Only draw back was the pool at the complex owned by someone else they has very strict rules no outside food or drink, not even a water bottle. And no flotation for adults not even a small noodle. There is a bar and restaurant at the pool if you need water or food but a bit pricey. There is a nice workout area by the pool with high end equipment as well….overall a great stay!

Wonderful Visit to the Big Island

My wife and I chose to celebrate a milestone anniversary staying in Doug and Vicki’s oceanfront Hale. A welcome basket of snacks greeted us as we arrived. The location and unobstructed view directly to the ocean could not have been better. The two large windows in the master bedroom also faced the ocean. Whale watching was a daily event from the lanai. There was a sense of peaceful privacy. The kitchen was bright and had modern appliances. We didn’t really do any cooking, but we could have with fully stocked pots pans, utensils, silverware and glassware. Ocean Club access which included a very nice restaurant with weekend live music, pool and exercise facility were a great convenience not to mention just a short 2 minute walk from the front door. Beach equipment including chairs and towels were provided. We would highly recommend this Hale. Book early, it is very popular. Mahalo Doug and Vicki for your thoughtful hospitality.

Big Island Oceanfront Paradise!

We thoroughly enjoyed this immaculate oceanfront condo for its easy ground floor access, wonderful views, and close proximity to the Ocean Club. Which made for quick and easy access to the pool, fitness center, and restaurant where we ate on multiple occasions and enjoyed evening sunsets. The unit was fully stocked with everything one might need for an enjoyable island vacation. Although we never cooked or made use of the full selection of beach gear. We spent many hours relaxing on the patio watching the whales offshore. And occasional walks around the surrounding areas. Also worth mentioning is being able to park in the carport which ensured the car was cool and comfortable the moment we got in the car to go somewhere. The manicured resort grounds are well maintained as are the buildings. And the owners were responsive and easy to work with. We will definitely be back!

Oceanfront gem

My mom and I spent five nights at Doug and Vicki's condo, which lived up to the hype from prior reviews. It's beautifully furnished (I love the art) and fully equipped (tip: look into the little closet adjacent to the kitchen for spices and such). The A/C worked well when all doors and windows must be totally closed. The lanai and primary bedroom offer great views of the ocean and Haleakala on Maui. However, due to the large amount of lava and sacred sites, you can't actually get close to the water. If you go around the ocean club next door (great pool!), you can reach a trail. If you go south, you'll reach the Ocean Tower at the Hilton Waikoloa in about 15 minutes. The trail north is very dicey and not for the faint of heart. Since there is no beach nearby, we drove to A-Bay, Hapuna, and Mauna Kea. Doug and Vicki were extremely responsive, sometimes responding to our questions in minutes. The only issues that we had were the *very* firm beds, which are high off the ground, which was an issue for my mom. The bed pillows are pretty flat and need replacing. We'll definitely consider Doug and Vicki's condo the next time we're on the Big Island. A few friends saw my photos and were interested, as well.

Perfection!

My wife and I just completed an all too brief 4-night stay at this fantastic property and couldn't be more pleased. The unit was beautiful and so well-appointed with the highest-end appliances, art work, furnishings etc. Exquisite fold-away doors to the lanai provided an unobstructed view of the coast and ocean, and were so much nicer than the typical sliding doors on other units. The property was immaculate. Every amenity you could want was there, along with special touches such as fresh coffee beans with a grinder for those cups of coffee on the lanai watching the spectacular sunsets. Doug & Vicki were highly responsive to any questions I had before or during our stay - typically responding almost as soon as I hit the "Send" key. Believe all the other positive reviews about the jaw-dropping view - building 13 is one of just a few in Hali'i Kai with this direct ocean-facing view. I only wish we were there during whale watching season. The property is literally just steps away from the Ocean Club which has a very nice pool. Despite being so close, there was no noise or other activity heard from the unit. Lunch and dinner are also served at the Ocean Club, but we chose to take out a few dinners from there instead since it was so nice eating on the lanai. We did lots of touring around the Big Island and found the location of this property to be excellent whether going down to the Kona area, or up to the amazing beaches and vistas to the north. Five Stars all around!!!!
