"Charming troglodyte house near Sarlat

authentic 19th century house, restored with quality materials, it is backed by one of the rocks of Montfort, charming village booming with restaurants, wine bar, handcrafted pottery and bread deposit. It is ideally located close to the best sights Black Périgord (Sarlat, Beynac, Castelnaud .....), the Dordogne river and the activities it offers, not to mention the festivities and other gourmet markets surrounding villages.
It has a sun terrace, secluded, with a clear view of the valley and an atypical and cozy interior, all well equipped.
On 3 levels: entrance "cave" with a first sanitary, his washbasin and a staircase that leads to the main room, with kitchen and living / dining room and finally a room with bathroom on the top level and access to the terrace.

A pleasant Dordogne rest

A very unusual property, clean and comfortable with a frendly owner. The only drawback was the number of stairs.

Wonderful unique

An unusual property lovely and cool in hot temperatures due to it being part cave. Sunny terrace with BBQ facility. Kitchen well equipped, fridge, oven, toaster, kettle, coffee bean blender and filter machine. Otherwise everything clean and comfortable. A good relaxing retreat Nd close to many interesting places see and things to do.

Great place in Montfort

Isabelle’s property was so nice! It was unique, clean and relaxing. The heated tile floors in the living area were so great. Loved taking a five minute walk to the bakery every morning. Isabelle was very helpful and friendly . Exploring the Dordogne area was awesome. Such a pretty place!

Tranquility in rural France

As described, this property is unique and in a beautiful location. A stroll away from the river Dordogne and with a forest walk close to the doorstep.It has everything you need for a special break of self catering. The terrace is lovely for al fresco dining but there is also a quaint little restaurant a few yards away. Canoe hire is available at Solei Plage at a reasonable price. A fabulous place to pass a few days. We hope to return.

Klein maar gezellig vakantiehuisje. Mooi ruim dakterras. Bijzonder: een bergwand vormt 1 van de binnenmuren, het lijkt een beetje alsof je in een grot zit.

Super schönes Haus in wunderschöner Umgebung

Wir haben das Haus 2 Wochen im Februar sehr genossen, die Nachmittage an sonnigen Tagen auf der Terrasse verbracht. Die Gegend ist auch im Winter sehr zu empfehlen, es ist wunderbar ruhig und die vielen kleinen Städte nicht überfüllt. Nur nach einem geöffnetem Lokal muss man etwas suchen. Aber in der Küche des Ferienhauses lassen sich wunderbar viele Rezepte aus dem Perigord zubereiten und die Zutaten dazu (z. B. Trüffel jetzt im Winter) auf den Märkten erstehen. Kommen gerne mal wieder.

idéal pour rayonner et visiter le Perigord noir

Maison très confortable et spacieuse avec une grande terrasse adossée aux rochers et avec une vue sur le château de Montfort. Montfort est un charmant village proche de la rive droite de la Dordogne.

Comme un rêve

Nous avons passer trois semaines de nos vacances à Montfort et c'etait inoubliable. Nous avons tous les jours jouis de la terrasse et se baigner au Dordogne (soleil plage!). Les parcours au canoe (Dordogne et Vezère) sont merveilleux. C'etait un grand plaisir d'acheter les baguettes (torchon!) le matin à la boulangerie à Montfort et des autres choses pour les gourmets aux marchés ou au biocoop à Sarlat! Un lieu idyllique pour se ressourcer

Ce petit nid est ideal pour un total depaysement. Quel bonheur de se poser sur cette jolie terrasse et s impregner de ce lieu poetique hors du temps! Isabelle y a posé mille attentions et l'on s'y sent comme chez soi. Nous recommandons les yeux fermés.

Relaxing break in the Dordogne

No hassle. Lovely house in a great location for Sarlat, La Roque, Domme etc and the river in easy reach. Would definitely recommend and go again!

LOVED IT !!

Fantastic gite, appealingly a little different to the norm and offers a secluded attractive sun terrace. Owners were delightful. The village location is very quiet nestling below a very pretty chateau, and is perfectly situated to explore the area for which attractions are in an abundance. Would recommend without hesitation and hope to revisit in the near future.
